A group of highly coveted elite 2014 national prospects is powering the Midwest region of the country once again and Kevon Looney of Milwaukee Hamilton (WI) is front and center as the talented junior continues to deliver strong performances and collect high major attention in the process. Here’s an update on the long and talented forward from Wisconsin…
Currently averaging over 25 PPG and double figure rebounds as well, Looney has been the focal point of a Milwaukee Hamilton squad that currently sits at 14-1 on the season with their eyes set on competing for both a City Conference and State Championship this season. Looney has been spectacular at times this season in dominating on both the offensive end with his ability to score around the basket, knock down jumpers, attack off the dribble, and dominate the glass and on the defense end with his rebounding and dominant shot blocking prowess that has shown up with a high level of consistency this season. Looney has also shown some improved athleticism as well with a number of highlight reel dunks throughout the season that sent the crowd buzzing and Twitter into a frenzy. While head coaches and assistant coaches are commonplace at Hamilton practices and games, last week Looney and his teammates played in front of Duke Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski and despite suffering their first defeat of the season that night, it continued to evidence the elite nature of Looney’s talents once again as Coach K joined the likes of Buzz Williams, Tom Izzo, Billy Donovan, John Thompson III, and Cuonzo Martin as some of the head coaches who’ve taken in Looney’s games this season.
A consensus top 10 national prospect at this point who is taking aim at a top 5 spot with his performance this season, Looney informed us earlier this week that he now holds offers from Marquette, Wisconsin, Louisville, N.C. State, Kansas, Duke, Tennessee, Georgetown, Maryland, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas, Florida, and Florida State with interest from a number of other schools including, but not limited to, Kentucky, North Carolina, and UCLA.
