NY2LASPORTS.COM - FULLER AND NOSKOWIAK LEAD SUN PRAIRIE
Evan Flood — Contributing Editor - NY2LASPORTS.COM
In the epic first meeting between Madison Memorial and Sun Prairie, the Spartans climbed back from a double digit deficit in the second half to knock off the Cardinals on a last second 3-point shot. The second affair between the Big Eight’s top two teams, nearly lived up to the excitement of the first. Through three quarters, Memorial and Sun Prairie went back and forth in a very physical affair. Trailing Memorial by two games in the Big Eight standings, Sun Prairie knocked down key shots and key free throws to keep their conference title hopes alive and get revenge on the Spartans with a 63-54 victory on the road.
Nick Fuller – 2013 – SF – Sun Prairie HS
6-7 – Sun Prairie, WI
Nebraska commit Nick Fuller poured in a game-high 26 points. After a rough first half, Fuller came roaring back and put Sun Prairie on his shoulders with a big third and fourth quarter. At one point, the senior scored 11-straight points for the Cardinals in the third quarter.
Nick Noskowiak – 2015 - PG – Sun Prairie HS
6-3 – Sun Prairie, WI
Noskowiak got off to a fast start with 10 points in the first half. The sophomore guard was quiet for most of the second half until it mattered most. With Sun Prairie trying to protect a late lead, Noskowiak made some big plays down the stretch, including 10-striaght makes from the free throw line and 11-12 overall. He finished with 22 points.
Jester Weah – 2013 – F – Memorial HS
6-4 – Madison, WI
Although he’ll play football at the University of Pittsburgh next season, Weah continues to have an outstanding senior season on the hardwood as well. Weah led Memorial with 15 points and a handful of blocked shots. With Sun Prairie taking the paint away from the super-athletic forward, Weah did a nice job of knocking down mid-range jumpers.
Julian Walters – 2013 – PG – Memorial HS
5-11 – Madison, WI
Walters gave Memorial a lift in ways other than scoring. The senior played very good defense on Noskowiak for most of the night. Walters also showed the ability to step up and knock down open 3-pointers.
