With the July "live" evaluation period set to take off tomorrow, today is a perfect day to take a look at some of the top 2010 and 2011 prospects in the state of Wisconsin who stand to and/or should collect a lot of attention this month as coaches take aim on the recruiting trail for prospects across the country:

TEN WISCONSIN 2010 PROSPECTS TO WATCH
(Note:  Listed in alphabetical order)

6-3 SG - Vander Blue - Madison Memorial - Milwaukee Spartans Grassroots

2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

One of the premiere talents left on the board in the 2010 class is already generating interest from schools in the Pac 10, Big East, Big 12, SEC, and the Big Ten.  Explosively athleticism combined with solid skills and a lethal perimeter stroke have Blue at the top of host of high major programs boards as a must see talent in the 2010 class this July.  Bottom line is Blue is the real deal and schools from across the country are lining up in bunches with interest since he re-opened his recruitment this spring.

6-5 SF - Flavien Davis - Wisconsin Lutheran - Wisconsin Scholars Grassroots

Early July 2009 Schedule
2009 NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational July 6-9, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin
2009 Chicago Summer Classic July 9-11, 2009 - Chicago, Illinois
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

After collecting a state ship earlier this spring, Davis has turned in a number of solid efforts but none bigger than an M.V.P. type performance alongside Steve McWhorter to capture the 2009 NY2LA Sports Invitational 17U championship in May.  At 6-5 with a lethal mid range game and an almost 7 foot wingspan, Davis stands to collect a lot of looks this July with strong performances on the travel circuit.

6-3 PG - Andy Fox - Arrowhead - Wisconsin Swing Shaw Grassroots

Early July Schedule
2009 Kentucky Hoopfest - July 9-12, 2009 - Louisville, Kentucky
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

While McWhorter may be a sleeper, Fox is easily the most underrated prospect in the state of Wisconsin for the 2010 class.  Excellent instincts, solid handles, can get to the cup, and the ability to stroke the basketball, Fox can impact a game as a playmaker or as a perimeter shooter.  While certain politics have worked hard to keep Fox below the radar, Fox doesn't duck any competition and can match up with any 2010 PG in the state of Wisconsin and more than hold his own.  His 35+ performance this spring in the Swish & Dish Spring Warm-Up and a monster showing in a Regional final loss at the WIAA state tournament were just a sample of Fox can bring to the table.  With the ability to take over games from the outside, by playmaking, or by attacking the rim, Fox could see his stock soar with a strong showing this July.  Anyone mid major program in the country looking for a floor general who knows how to play should take a look at this young Wisconsin talent.

6-3 PG - Josh Gasser - Port Washington - Wisconsin Swing Selk Grassroots

Early July 2009 Schedule
Adidas It Takes Five July 6-8, 2009 - Cincinnati, Ohio
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

Arguably the top PG on the board in the 2010 class for the state of Wisconsin, Gasser can score it in bunches and has excellent instincts, solid floor leadership, and the ability to make big plays on both ends of the floor.  A lights out perimeter shooter who can hit the mid range and create, Gasser is one of the most underrated floor generals in the 2010 class regionally and nationally and an excellent perimeter talent who knows how to play.

6-4 SG - Troy Huff - Brookfield Academy - Playground Elite

Early July Schedule
2009 NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational July 6-9, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin
2009 Chicago Summer Classic July 9-11, 2009 - Chicago, Illinois
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

A sharpshooting perimeter talent, Huff has turned in his best spring to date with a number of strong showings including a breakout performance at the 2009 Sabes Invitational in Minnesota.  Equipped with a lethal perimeter stroke, Huff has showed a high level of consistency in hitting his perimeter jumper and blended that with an improved ability to attack the rim and finish in traffic.  The young talent recently grabbed an offer from Montana and heads into July playing his best basketball of his young career looking to grab more interest with strong showings.

6-4 G - Chim Kadima - Milwaukee Lutheran - Milwaukee Spartans Grassroots

Early July 2009 Schedule
2009 NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational July 6-9, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

An excellent perimeter shooting talent, Kadima has played the combo guard spot the past few years but his upside and potential is higher as a straight SG given his ability to catch and shoot the basketball, his mid range stroke, etc.  Solid instincts and court awareness, Kadima could see attention from a host of schools with a strong showing this July.

6-7 SF - Reid Koenen - Racine Prairie - Playground Elite

Early July Schedule
2009 NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational July 6-9, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin
2009 Chicago Summer Classic July 9-11, 2009 - Chicago, Illinois
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

One of the best kept secrets in the state, Koenen is a sharpshooting wing talent with range that extends beyond the arc.  Raw on the physical side, Keonen is at his best shooting the basketball and has his best years in front of him.  Already having turned in a solid high school season and some strong showings this spring, Koenen could collect a lot of interest with a solid July showing.

6-2 PG - Steve McWhorter - Racine St. Catherines - Wisconsin Scholars Grassroots

Early July Schedule
2009 NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational July 6-9, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin
2009 Chicago Summer Classic July 9-11, 2009 - Chicago, Illinois
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

One of the true sleepers in the 2009 class, expect that to change as McWhorter takes the floor in July.  Pound for pound arguably the toughest PG in the 2010 class for the state of Wisconsin, McWhorter can handle the basketball, has nice vision, and can create.  Add to the mix an unstoppable ability to get to the rim and solid dribble penetration skills and its easy to see why schools in the Horizon and Missouri Valley conferences are already showing interest.  With a strong July showing McWhorter stands to see his stock soar regionally.

6-6 F - Chip Rank - Cedarburg - Wisconsin Swing Selk Grassroots

Early July 2009 Schedule
Adidas It Takes Five July 6-8, 2009 - Cincinnati, Ohio
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

Pound for pound Rank is one of the toughest players in the 2010 class in the region.  He attacks the glass, always competes, can score around the basket, and has matched up against some of the best in the Midwest and been dominant time and time again.  View as a bit of a "tweener" the two sport star (i.e. Football) is a blue collar nuts and bolts type forward who you can pencil in a double double for any time he takes the floor.  Bottom line is Rank makes and impact and is worth the look for anyone in the market for an aggressive forward to make an impact on both ends at the mid to high major collegiate level.  Highly underrated regionally and nationally.

6-3 SG - Evan Richard - Cuba City - Wisconsin Swing Selk

Early July Schedule
Adidas It Takes Five July 6-8, 2009 - Cincinnati, Ohio
2009 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam July 12-15, 2009 - Mequon, Wisconsin

A lights out perimeter shooter, Richard can fill it up in major fashion when he gets it going and has done so on more than one occasion over the past 12 months.  Arguably one of the best pure scoring talents in the state for the 2010 class, Richard is below the radar but has the possibility of changing all that with strong showing this July.  An instinctive talent, Richard can fill it up with the best of them in the state.

One of the most explosive athletes in the 2011 class, Cook continues to generate interest from schools both regionally and nationally with a versatile still developing skill package.  Blessed with nice length and sick hops, Cook attacks the glass well, can finish in transition, and isn't afraid to posterize someone in transition or half court sets if need be.  Turned in a breakout performance last fall at the Breakfast of Champions league and has never looked back.  Arguably has some of the best upside of any 2011 prospect in the state.
