As
the Grassroots travel season approaches, one name you're certain to hear an
awful lot about in the coming years is Dominique Ferguson, a long athletic 6'10"
forward out of Indiana. Ferguson is already regarded as one of the top sophomores in the country and he's done nothing but continue to reinforce that notion with his performances over the past year at various camps and tournaments including the Nike Hoop Jamboree camp last June in St. Louis.
Ferguson is really just scratching the surface at this point. He's already shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and score in a number of ways, which combined with his excellent size, length, frame, and athleticism could make for a high major elite national impact prospect and player in the coming years.
That's just the tip of the iceberg though as Ferguson is also blessed with a 7'5" wingspan giving him the potential to become an enormous defensive presence and excellent rebounding prospect as well. He's currently regarded by NY2LA Sports as the #1 Class of 2010 prospect in the Midwest alongside Deshaun Thomas and is regarded nationally as one of the top 15 Class of 2010 prospects in the country by most experts.
We're not the only ones taking notice of Ferguson though as a host of high major programs including, but not limited to, the likes of Duke, Purdue, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, and Ohio State are already showing interest in the big fella. Expect that list to grow by leaps and bounds this spring/summer as Ferguson rocks with the Nike Grassroots sponsored SYF Players out of Indiana, one of the top grassroots travel programs in the country year in and year out.
