THOMAS & FERGUSON HEAD UP "2010" MIDWEST TOP 50

The
NY2LA Sports Midwest Top 50 for the Class of 2010 were released earlier today
and 2 Indiana sophomores head the list in 6'6" DeShaun Thomas of Bishop Luers
(IN) (pictured left) and 6'10" Dominique Ferguson of Lawrence North (IN)
(pictured below right. Both Thomas and Ferguson are high major elite
prospects nationally with Thomas having a more refined skill set at this point
but Ferguson having excellent size, length, and big time upside.
Equally solid is Jereme Richmond of Waukegan who is committed to Illinois. The long athletic Richmond is regarded by most as the top Class of 2010 prospect in Illinois. He comes in at the # 3 spot in the rankings.
Not to be outdone is the state of Iowa who boast a number of solid 2010 prospects led by none other than 6'6" SF Harrison Barnes of Ames, Iowa. The long athletic Barnes is one of the most underrated prospects nationally right now and a big time talent both on and off the court. In state powers Iowa and Iowa State already have offers on the table for Barnes, but you can expect that list to really take off after competing on the grassroots travel scene this spring/summer.
Rounding out the top 5 is super sophomore guard Ray McCallum Jr. of Bloomington North High School in Indiana. McCallum might have the smoothest game and the most refined skill set of any Class of 2010 prospect in the country. As such, "Sugar" Ray grabs a spot in the top 5 as well giving the state of Indiana 3 of the top 5 spots in the Midwest Top 50. Indiana has an offer on the table for Ray who's father is an assistant coach for the Hoosiers.
The state of Wisconsin grabbed 2 spots in the top 10 with 6'5" SF Flavien Davis of Wisconsin Lutheran coming in at #6 and 6'11" C Evan Anderson of Eau Claire North taking the #10 spot.
