2011 Prospect Watch - 6'7" F Darnell Harris - Wisconsin

By Antonio Curro - NY2LA Sports

October 25, 2007

One of the future stars on the scene in both Wisconsin and the Midwest is 6'7" F Darnell Harris of Milwaukee Bay View.  The long athletic Harris is currently the NY2LA Sports #1 prospect in the Milwaukee Metro area and yesterday he came in as the #87 prospect in the country by the HoopScoop for the Class of 2011.  This type of recognition shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone as Harris is easily one of the top young prospects in Wisconsin and he has an enormous amount of potential in the coming years.

The 6'7" Harris is a long athletic young prospect with solid court awareness, excellent hands, and the ability to finish around the rim.  The key to Darnell is that he has some big time upside and potential as he has shown flashes of his ability to finish in transition, attack the rim, and at times dominate the interior.  With continued development and hard work, people can those flashes to become the norm and Mr. Harris to become the dominant player he currently has the potential to be.

Harris blasted on the scene this past spring/summer as he rocked a Milwaukee Running Rebels jersey and helped lead them to the 2007 NY2LA Sports Next Level Invitational 14U Tournament championship.  He followed that up by putting down another strong performance at the Generation Next All-Star Camp this past August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!  Now he is set to become one of the major pieces for Milwaukee Bay View new coach Lou Chapman in the coming years and when it's all said and done, expect a host of mid to high major programs to line up for his services.
