Class of 2008 Prospect Look - 6'5" F Marvin Fitzgerald- Wisconsin

One of the best stories of the 2008 in the state of Wisconsin right now is the return of Marvin Fitzgerald to the basketball court.  The 6'5" F at Milwaukee Vincent injured his shoulder last season and was forced to play through the pain during both the high school season and the spring/summer travel season with the Milwaukee Running Rebels Grassroots program.

Fitzgerald never complained, rather he helped his Milwaukee Vincent team reach the state championship game before falling to Oshkosh West and then he proceeded to help lead his Milwaukee Running Rebels 17U team to respectable finishes at a number of different tournaments including a runner up finish at the 2007 NY2LA Sports Next Level Invitational in Milwaukee where they eventually fell to fellow hometown rival D.T.A. in the 17U championship game.  That field included a host of top Grassroots programs including the likes of the Howard Pulley Panthers, D.T.A., Wisconsin Playground Warriors, Bay Area Hoosiers, SYF Players, St. Louis Eagles, Mac Irvin Fire, Team Illinois Hawks, Ferrari, Team Detroit, Team Melo, Milwaukee Spartans, plus many more!

Despite the success of his teams, Fitzgerald was forced to bear the shoulder pain and play game after game during one of the most important recruiting times for a junior to be senior prospect.  Never complaining, Fitzgerald showed the toughness that he's well respected for and simply got it done and helped his teams get it done whenever he took the floor.

Fitzgerald had offseason shoulder surgery shortly thereafter and finally was able to get back to his old self this past November when he took the floor for his senior year for the Milwaukee Vincent team, currently regarded as one of the top teams in the state of Wisconsin and the #2 ranked Milwaukee Metro area team according to NY2LA Sports.

Fitzgerald is a solid sleeper in the 08' class and currently one of the top Class of 2008 prospects still available in the state of Wisconsin.  A "nuts and bolts" kind of player, Fitzgerald does a number of things well and can produce and provide whatever is asked of him game in and game out as he brings nothing but consistent production to the court whenever he takes the floor.  A solid rebounding prospect, Fitzgerald also can attack the rim, step out and stroke the 3, and simply has a nice understanding of the game and the ability to make things happen when he's on the floor.  If you need 10 rebounds Marvin can get that and if you need 20 points he has the ability to get that done as well.

Marvin has also shed a few pounds during the offseason improving his speed and quickness.  Proof is in the pudding so to speak as Fitzgerald has already posted a number of solid games this year including a 20+ performance this past weekend against Madison West.

Marvin has really taken some big steps forward this offseason and expect that trend to continue for him as a player and prospect as he continues to get back into form and shape this season.  He is uncommitted and currently one of the top prospects in the state of Wisconsin that's still available.
