NY2LASports.com will not be running the Next Level Showcase this fall as it has
the past few years. In an effort to continue to assist in the development
and improvement of players while still providing opportunities for exposure and
preparation for the upcoming high school year, the 2008
NY2LASports.com Breakfast of Champions League will start
October 12, 2008 and run consecutively through November 16, 2008. The
league will feature individual and/or positional skill sessions each week along
with full length game play and will be held Sunday mornings between 8 a.m. and
12 p.m. inside the M.S.O.E. Kern Center in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The league is open to Class of 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 prospects and will
feature two separate divisions (i.e. Division A for Class of 2009 and 2010
prospects and Division B for Class of 2011 and 2012 prospects). The cost
of the league is $175 and all registrations include a reversible jersey, shorts,
and a complete evaluation and profile provided by NY2LASports.com.
Further, all games will be taped! The buzz on the league is already hot as
a host of top players have already confirmed their participation since we first
announced it last night!! For more information on the league as well as

Former Milwaukee Vincent standout 6'5" F Marvin Fitzgerald has enrolled at Heat
Academy in Virginia. Fitzgerald stood as one of the top 08' prospects in
Wisconsin this past year.
One of the best kept secrets in Wisconsin all spring and summer is
09' PG Keondre Gholston. The
6'2" PG is one of the top 09' prospects in the state of Wisconsin and has seen
interest in recent weeks from a host of Division 1 schools in recent weeks
including the likes of DePaul and Georgia Tech. Gholston competed this
past spring/summer with the Tosa Bandits and has a solid July which included
strong performances at the 2008 NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational and the
Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas this past July. Gholston is one of the top
sleepers and highly underrated players in the state of Wisconsin and with a
strong fall and high school season he could see interest coming his way from
more schools in the coming weeks.
Staying on Tosa East, 6'3" 09' Guard Eric Williams
took a visit to Lewis University this past weekend.
Williams is another solid 09' prospect on the sleeper side in Wisconsin.
Class of 2010 prospect G Derek Schell has gotten interest in recent weeks from
Harvard and Bucknell. The Catholic Memorial standout has also taken an
unofficial visit to Princeton earlier this year. A solid sharpshooting
spot up shooter, Schell has a solid shot to continue to move up the radar of
schools with continued development and improvement over the next 12-18 months.
2011 standouts Charlie Lee, Darnell Harris, Elgin
Cook, and Haki Stampley are expected to head down to the
University of Indiana this weekend for their camp. Lee, Harris, Cook, and
Stampley stand as four of the top prospects in the Midwest for the Class of
2011.
Gotta give a shot out to 2010 PG Kieth Appling
(Reach Legends Grassroots Program) who committed to Michigan State earlier this
month. Appling was one of the top 2010 PG prospects nationally and was one
of Michigan State's top priorities. Head Coach Tom Izzo was courtside for
Appling's games this past July in Milwaukee at the 2008 NY2LASports.com Next
Level Invitational where he competed with the always tough REACH Legends program
based out of Michigan.
Another 2011 prospect in Wisconsin to really take note of is
6'5" G Paul Jesperson of Merrill,
Wisconsin. He competed with the Wisconsin Playmakers program based out of
Eau Claire, Wisconsin and the young fella can really go. Expect to read a
lot about him in the coming years as he's one of the premiere 2011 prospects in
the Midwest.
Last but not least, got to give a quick hit to T.J.
Bray of Catholic Memorial. The standout 2010 PG recently
collected an offer from Florida Gulf Coast.
Have a great weekend!
