Coach K lands Reno PF Czyz!
Aleksander Olek Czyz, a 6'8" Class of 2008 Forward out of Reno, Nevada has committed to attend Duke University and play for Coach K!
Czyz is largely regarded as one of the top 20 Class of 2008 prospects in the country after a spring/summer season whereby he virtually exploded across national recruiting boards after big time performances at the Pangos All-American Camp and the Reebok University camp this past July.
Czyz virtually exploded overnight with his performances this past spring that included a monster showing at the Pangos All-American Camp in Los Angeles, California in early June and another shortly thereafter at Reebok University!
Czyz selected Duke over the likes of Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Florida, etc. after heaving recruiting this summer and fall. After narrowing his list to Louisville, Duke, and Florida, Czyz visited Durham, NC last weekend and went ahead and verbally committed to Coach K earlier today.
At 6'8" Czyz is an exceptional athlete with explosive bounce and the ability to attack the rim on the blocks and also pop out and knock down the 3 point shot at times. Born in Poland, Czyz has really only played the game the past 3 years so as good as he already his, he's still raw with tons of upside.
Czyz has been one of our favorites for the past year and a half after his performance at the Double Pump camp last July and he has continued to show flashes of what could be something very special when he polishes his game and completely develops! He's a big time talent and a he's an excellent catch for Coach K and Duke University who've really made a big splash the past couple of years!
Czyz played this past spring/summer with the Las Vegas Prospects one of the most elite grassroots programs in the country.
