2009 Prospect Update - 6'7" SF Jamil Wilson  - Wisconsin

By Antonio Curro - NY2LA Sports

October 23, 2007

6'7" Class of 2009 Forward Jamil Wilson of Racine Horlick High School continues to generate high major interest from virtually every major conference as he is one of the hottest Class of 2009 prospects in the country right now.

The versatile Wilson who's drawn comparisons by some to former North Carolina standout Marvin Williams (Atlanta Hawks) has excellent length, big time athleticism, and the ability to handle the ball away from the basket and hit the mid range jumper.  Add to the fact that Wilson has shown flashes of his ability to attack the rim with authority and can also step back and stroke the trey ball and it's easy to see why he's landed on Top 10 national boards on virtually every recruiting site in the country.

The NY2LA Sports #1 Class of 2009 prospect for the Milwaukee Metro area teamed with PG Johnnie Lacy (Mil. Bay View) to lead one of the Top 5 Grassroots teams in the country this past season to tournament championships at the 2007 NY2LA Sports Swish & Dish, 2007 King James Shooting Stars Classic, and the 2007 Spiece Run N' Slam tournaments this past spring.  Wilson still has a ton of upside and room to grow which explains why a host of high majors from virtually every high major conference in the country are trying to position themselves to land the 6'7" versatile athlete out of Racine, Wisconsin.

Wilson is also an exceptional volleyball player and recently led his Racine Horlick team to a 2nd place conference finish this season.  He and his teammates have a match with Greendale in the opening round of the Wisconsin State High School Volleyball Tournament later this week.
