A City Conference showdown hit the courts at the V-House on Tuesday as perennial power Milwaukee King traveled to Milwaukee Vincent for the premiere matchup of the evening. After a back and forth affair in the first half, Milwaukee Vincent used solid rebounding and balanced scoring led by junior forward Marcus White to take control and roll to a 69-60 victory to stay unbeaten in conference play. JABARI HOBSON – 2013 – SG – MILWAUKEE VINCENT
The senior guard hit some big shots in both halves as his ability to knock down the perimeter jumpers was huge in slowing a couple of first half runs by king. Hobson knocked down mid-range jumpers, a couple trey balls, and key free throws on his way to a solid 15 point effort on Tuesday night.
RONALD SINGLETON – 2013 – PF – MILWAUKEE VINCENT
Singleton had early foul trouble in the first half but his was relentless in the second half with his effort, his rebounding, his hustle, and his ability to knock down key free throws. Singleton brought excellent energy and made key plays down the stretch of the fourth quarter on his way to a solid 13 point effort on Tuesday night.
MARCUS WHITE – 2013 – F – MILWAUKEE VINCENT
The emerging forward continued his stellar play on Tuesday as he literally took over the game at times with his ability to score in transition, finish around the basket, and knock down the jumper. He attacked the rim with success, showed range beyond the arc, finished in transition with consistency and delivered a strong performance and served as a catalyst of Vincent’s second half surge on Tuesday. He delivered a strong and dominant 20 point effort on Tuesday night.
DEONTE BURTON – 2013 – SF – MILWAUKEE VINCENT
The Marquette bound talent was suffering from the flu on Tuesday but while his opening half was a bit sluggish, Burton rebounded to deliver a solid second half effort where he helped clean the glass, he scored in transition, and he made solid decisions at key moments to help fuel his team to victory. He finished with 10 points and collected double figure rebounds in helping his team to a solid victory on Tuesday night.
AUSTIN MALONE-MITCHELL – 2013 – PG – MILWAUKEE KING
Like the rest of his teammates, Mitchell struggled from the perimeter in the opening three quarters but after Vincent extended their lead to 16 early in the fourth quarter, Mitchell tried to mount a furious rally with a number of trey balls and a huge fourth quarter performances. He finished with a game high 32 points on Tuesday bolstered by a huge fourth quarter performance that featured jumpers, layups, etc.
CHRIS HOWELL – 2014 – SF – MILWAUKEE KING
Another solid junior who continues to emerge, Howell finished with a solid 15 point effort that was filled with some mid-range looks, transition baskets, and scores around the basket in both halves. Made some solid decisions, played hard, and brought a number of nice things and solid energy to the court at times on Tuesday.
