TOP PERFORMERS
(Note – listed in alphabetical order)

LAMONTE BEARDEN – 2014 – PG – GERMANTOWN
The 6-3 lean floor general was spectacular at times on Saturday in his ability to control the tempo and make things happen.  Germantown got off to a sluggish first quarter start and Bearden elevated the tempo and stepped up his aggressiveness and served as the catalyst for the Warhawks as they got rolling offensively.  He knocked down a couple trey balls, was active on the defensive end in helping generate turnovers for easy transition baskets, and he showed solid dribble penetration and playmaking ability once again.  Finished with 14 points and delivered a strong overall floor performance in the process.

LUKE FISCHER – 2013 – F/C – GERMANTOWN
The Indiana bound big man was a bit slow out of the box in the opening quarter scoring the ball but his activity on the glass and on the defensive end in the opening quarter was huge in helping the Warhawks stem the emotional surge of Dominican after the opening tip.  As the game rolled on Fischer settled in and served as a completely dominant force on both ends of the court with a 25 point 13 rebound 3 block performance.  He scored with his left, he finished with his right, he controlled the glass, he altered some shots, he knocked down jumpers, he delivered solid passes, and he powered in dunks in transition, off tips, and slipping down the lane in half court sets.  An exceptional floor effort for the future Hoosier on Saturday.

JAKE SHOWALTER – 2014 – SG – GERMANTOWN
Like most of the Warhawks roster Showalter started off slowly on Saturday but the second half for Showalter he stood front and center and he ripped off trey ball after trey ball on his way to 16 points.  The sharpshooting junior barely hit the rim in the second half as he jumpstarted a third quarter barrage from beyond the arc that put the game out of reach.  Impressed with his ability to bounce back from a forgettable opening session to deliver a strong second half performance on Saturday.

DUANE WILSON JR. – 2013 – PG – DOMINICAN
As dominant as Fischer was for Germantown, Wilson was much of the same for Germantown as he drove his way past defenders and elevated to knock down a number of perimeter shots.  Wilson scored at will to the tune of 30 points as he finished off the bounce in traffic, elevated in transition, knocked down a couple impressive pull up jumpers, and ripped the nets from long range for a handful of trey balls.  Germantown rotated a couple different looks at him defensively and Wilson continued to put the ball in the basket and do what he could to keep his team in the game as much as possible on Saturday night.

STOCK BOOSTERS
(Note – listed in alphabetical order)
BRIAN BEARDEN – 2014 – SG – GERMANTOWN
The emerging junior stepped his game up big during the second half Germantown surge as he jumped right in the mix with a number of long range shots from beyond the arc.  Finished with 11 points and was part of a huge third quarter run that put the game out of reach.

EVAN WESENBERG – 2014 – SF – GERMANTOWN
The talented junior was a force at times on both ends as he showed an ability to finish and solid court awareness offensively as well as nice instincts on the defensive end of the court.  The versatility and ability of Wesenberg to play guards, wings, or bigs on the defensive end of the court is a huge asset to the Germantown attack as it opens things up for the rest of the roster to be creative on the defensive end and create problems for opposing teams.  One of the most indispensable players on this year’s Germantown roster, Wesenberg was solid again on Saturday night in another strong performance for the Warhawks.

STAR WATCH
DIAMOND STONE – 2015 – C – DOMINICAN

The highly regarded sophomore got off to a strong start in the opening minute with a block and a dunk on the other end and that was it for the opening session as he picked up his second foul early in the second quarter and had to sit the rest of the half.  In the second half he knocked down a nice looking jump hook in the third quarter and then hit a few free throws late when the game was out of reach.  Didn’t get a rhythm on Saturday and was in foul trouble most of the night. Finished with 10 points.
