Tuesday night’s game between Beloit Memorial and Madison West showcased two of the top scorers in the Big Eight Conference in Memorial’s Andre Neal and West’s Malik Clements. However with both stars having off nights for their respective teams, it was up to the role players like Travis Kell of Madison West to come through in a tight game. The Regents got just a bit more from their supporting cast as Madison West topped Beloit Memorial 53-45 at home.
Daniel Jackson – 2013 – G/F – West HS
6-2 – Madison, WI
Jackson came up big for Madison West down the stretch. The senior chipped in with eight points, but did an even better job on the glass and defending Beloit Memorial star Andre Neal. Jackson is a big, strong slasher who’s tough to stop.
Travis Kell – 2013 – F – West HS
6-5 – Madison, WI
The senior forward led Madison West with 14 points. Kell gave Madison West a big boost in the second half with his post presence. The 6-5 forward scored in the paint, ran the floor offensively, and blocked a few shots on the defensive end as well.
Jaivon Peacock – 2014 – G/F – Beloit Memorial HS
6-1 – Beloit, WI
Peacock finished with a game-high 16 points. The junior did most of his damage on hustle plays, collecting offensive rebounds for easy buckets.
Draylen Fair – 2014 – PG – Beloit Memorial HS
5-6 – Beloit, WI
Fair is a speedy point guard who’s very tough to stay in front of. The 5-6 point guard has developed a nice mid-range game and is able to play well inside the paint. The junior had nine points and a handful of assists for Beloit Memorial Tuesday night.
