No doubt about it, the big news in recruiting this week was the decision announced by Brooklyn native 2014 G Isaiah Whitehead on Thursday who was choosing between five different schools the likes of Minnesota, Indiana, St. John’s, Seton Hall and Pittsburgh. However, there were several other prospects coming off the board this week, and schools such as Cincinnati earning itself a pair of quality post prospects, while Central Florida pulled in two highly ranked 2015 basketball players. Fall 2013 is shaping up to be very interesting in the recruiting world. COMMITMENTS
2014 PF Alec Brennan of Milton Academy (MA) gave a verbal commitment to Princeton this past Monday, September 16th. Brennan played with Expressions Elite on the circuit during the travel season.

Pepperdine landed a post with excellent potential, receiving a verbal commitment Monday evening from 2014 F/C Nate Gehring of Waukee H.S. (IA). Gehring played with the Kingdom Hoops Elite program on the grassroots circuit during the travel season.

Coach Smart landed one of his main targets in 2014 SF Terry Larrier of Phelps School (NY) who verbally committed Monday to play for Virginia Commonwealth (VCU). Larrier played for Team SCAN during the grassroots travel season.

2014 PG Mitchell Wilbekin of Rock School (FL) gives Tulsa its future floor general with his verbal commitment on September 16th. Wilbekin played grassroots basketball for Florida Elite during the travel season.

SIU-Edwardsville got a quick and gritty lead guard for the future in 2014 PG C.J. Carr of Rock Island H.S. (IL) who verbally committed Tuesday. Carr led Quad City Elite during the grassroots season.

2015 PF Alex Owens of Oak Ridge H.S. (FL) will remain in-state and play at Central Florida in a couple years, verbally committing to UCF on Tuesday. Owens played with the E1T1 program during the grassroots travel season.

Cincinnati got its busy week started off right in reeling in a verbal commitment from talented big man, 2014 C Quadri Moore of Linden H.S. (NJ) on Tuesday. Moore was a key member of Sports U-Team Izod’s grassroots program during the travel season.

Skilled 2014 PG Alex Robinson of Timberview H.S. (TX) decided to stay close to home, verbally committing Tuesday, September 17th to play collegiately at Texas A&M. Robinson competed for the Texas Titans program during the grassroots season.

The Bearcats scored another 2014 prospect Wednesday as Cincinnati received a verbal commitment on September 18th from tough PF Gary Clark of Clayton H.S. (NC). Clark played for CP3 All-Stars during the grassroots travel season.

Central Florida struck again in the current junior class, landing a verbal commitment from 2015 PG Corey Sanders of IMG Academy (FL) on Wednesday. Sanders played with Showtime Ballers during the grassroots travel season this year.

After getting Angel Delgado to pledge in August, Seton Hall hit big on the trail again as 2014 G Isaiah Whitehead of Lincoln H.S. (NY) verbally committed to the Pirates on Thursday. Whitehead competed with the Juice All-Stars program during the grassroots travel season.

With a sharp eye for the rim, 2014 SG Robert Johnson of Benedictine School (VA) is one of the better scorers in the country and as of Friday he is verbally committed to play at Indiana. Johnson played with the Boo Williams team during the grassroots season.

2015 PF Luke McDonnell of Dubuque Senior H.S. (IA) came off the board this past week after verbally committing to Northern Iowa.  McDonnell played for the Iowa Barnstormers during the grassroots travel season.

On Sunday, 2014 G/F Scott Lindsey of Fenwick H.S. (IL) made his pick, verbally committing to Northwestern to play in the Big-Ten for the Wildcats next year. Lindsey played with IL Old School-Woods during the grassroots travel season. CLICK HERE TO READ STORY

(WI) verbally pledged his commitment to the Bison during his visit to North Dakota State this weekend, informing Coach Phillips of his decision on Sunday, September 22nd. The annual fall league enters its 6th year and has become the premiere fall league in the state of Wisconsin for aspiring high school boys basketball players. With a primary focus on development and preparation for the upcoming high school season, the league looks to prepare each participant for the mental and physical experience of high school basketball while also focusing on providing maximum exposure and skill development in the process. The league will run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturdays October 19th, October 26th, and November 2nd and will feature skill sessions and 2 full length games per week. With a primary focus on skill development the Junior Breakfast of Champions Fall League will offer skill sessions and 1 full length game each week. The league will run from 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays October 19th, 26th, and November 2nd and will feature maximum exposure opportunities while also providing each participant information on areas to improve, individual skill drills that assist in development, and the fun of full length games.
