NY2LA Sports is pleased to announce the debut of the Generation Next Basketball Association “GNBA” next spring for elite middle school travel programs.  The league will feature 5th-8th grade divisions with teams separated into Eastern and Western Conference settings and scheduled to compete in two conference settings each followed by the Generation Next Invitational Championships next June.

With the focus on high level competition, organization, and structure while helping these young talents continue to develop their individual and team ability at the highest level, the GNBA will offer exclusive and in-depth coverage on every team throughout the league, statistics will be kept for every game, games will be video-taped, weekly recaps of each age group, team capsules, player of the week honors, league MVPs, etc.  Game play will consist of conference play and tournament play each weekend with a point system being used for seeding purposes based on wins and losses as well as tournament finishes each conference weekend to determine various seeds for the Generation Next Invitational Championships in June.

Top participants will be selected to compete in the GNBA All-Star games for each respective age group later in the summer.  The 5th and 6th grade GNBA All-Star weekend festivities will commence on Friday August 1, 2014 with games at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CST respectively.  The 5th and 6th grade All-Star games will take place on Friday and the weekend festivities will continue with those all-star participants and other top 5th and 6th grade prospects from both the GNBA and across the country then competing in the brand new NY2LA Sports Junior Generation Next All-Star Camp for 5th and 6th graders set for August 2-3, 2014.  Details on this new camp will be available in the coming weeks.

The 7th and 8th grade GNBA All-Star weekend festivities will commence on Friday August 8, 2014 with games at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. CST respectively.  Those 7th and 8th grade games will take place on Friday with those participants and other top 7th and 8th grade prospects from the GNBA and across the country then competing in the annual NY2LA Sports Generation Next All-Star Camp for 7th and 8th graders on August 9-10, 2014. The extensive alumni of this prestigious camp include the likes of Jabari Parker, Jean-Pierre Tokoto, Marcus Paige, Siyani Chambers, Riley Dearring, Kevon Looney, Duane Wilson Jr., Deonte Burton, James Blackmon Jr., etc. amongst others.

The GNBA has already secured commitments of the some of the top 5th-8th grade teams and programs in the country including the George Hill Rising Stars (IN), Mac Irvin Fire (IL), Ramey Basketball (MO), REACH Legends (MI), Playground Elite (WI), IL Rising Stars (IL), WI Playground Warriors (WI), KC Powergroup (KS/MO), Net Gain Sports (MN), Iowa Barnstormers (IA), Kingdom Hoops (IA), Gateway Basketball Club (MO), ET12 Buckeyes (IL), Full Package (IL), Wisconsin Swing (WI), TP Elite (WI), Wisconsin Shooters (WI), etc. Invitations are currently out to a handful of additional programs and with the talent already assembled the GNBA is already shaping up as one of the premiere middle school platforms in the country next spring and summer.
