Another week, another top 20 prospect off the board in the 2014 class. Highlighting this week’s commitments was Justise Winslow’s announcement on Thursday, which could easily have made one major college program instantly the team to beat next season. Eric Hamilton, Idrissa Diallo and some others also made some big decisions regarding their college futures this past week. Here’s a look at the various commitments around the nation last week...

On Monday, November 18th, 2014 C Isaac Haas of Hokes Bluff H.S. (AL) committed to play in the Big Ten for Purdue after originally giving a verbal to Wake Forest. Haas competed with the Alabama Challenge during the grassroots season.

2014 PF Ibrahima Camara of St. Paul’s School (MD) verbally committed to New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 19th.

2014 F Tony Toplyn of Neumann-Goretti H.S. (PA) chose to verbally commit to Campbell on Tuesday. He played with Team Final on the grassroots circuit.

The Bruins are building a big 2014 class, quite literally, as 2014 C Thomas Welsh of Loyola H.S. (CA) verbally committed to UCLA on Tuesday. Welsh played for Los Angeles Rockfish on the grassroots circuit during the travel season.

Dartmouth scored a verbal commitment from 2014 G Miles Wright of Tabor Academy (MA) on Tuesday, November 19th. He played for Metro Boston during the grassroots travel season.

Class of 2014 G Josh Bougher of Christian Brothers H.S. (TN) verbally committed to Tennessee Tech on Wednesday, November 20th.

Highly sought 2014 C Idrissa Diallo of Cathedral H.S. (CA) verbally committed Wednesday to stay in state and play at California next year. Diallo was a key cog on the Compton Magic grassroots team during the travel season.

Cal State-Northridge got a verbal commitment Wednesday from 2014 G Jibreel Faulkner of Roosevelt H.S. (DC). He competed with the DC Warriors program during the grassroots season.

2014 F/C Norbertas Giga of St. Benedict’s Prep (NJ) verbally committed to Florida State on Wednesday, November 20th. Giga is from Lithuania.

Wichita State landed a big verbal commitment from 2014 PF Eric Hamilton of Duluth H.S. (GA) on Wednesday. Hamilton competed for the Southern Kings grassroots team during the travel season.

2014 G Mike Hughes of Winston-Salem Prep (NC) verbally committed on Wednesday to play at Georgia Southern.

2014 SF Jonathan Janssen of Mount Zion Christian Academy verbally committed to Cleveland State on Wednesday. Janssen is from Australia.

Stanford hit on the trail with another big prospect, getting a verbal commitment on Wednesday from 2014 SG Dorian Pickens of Pinnacle H.S. (AZ) who joins a tough recruiting class for the Cardinals.

Duke is on fire lately in the 2014 class as they pick up another Top 10 caliber player as SF Justise Winslow of St. John’s H.S. (TX) verbally committed to the Blue Devils on Thursday, November 21st. Winslow played for the Houston Hoops program during the grassroots travel season.

Pittsburgh landed a verbal commitment from 2014 C Shaquille Doorson of Canarias Basketball Academy (Spain) on Friday, November 22nd.

2014 PG Hunter Ware of North Cobb Christian H.S. (GA) committed Saturday, November 23rd to play collegiately at Bryant. Ware played for Team Impact on the grassroots circuit.

NY2LA Sports officially announced its Generation Next Basketball Association "GNBA" for 5th-8th grade travel programs this past week which it will debut next spring.  The league has already secured commitments from many top travel programs in the country.  For more information CLICK HERE

The annual NY2LA Sports Classic will take place on December 14, 2013 at Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin.  The high school hoops showcase will feature another stellar lineup of teams with the following schools slated to appear:  Germantown, Dominican, Brookfield Central, Milwaukee Hamilton, Milwaukee Riverside, Neenah, Homestead, Marquette University High School, Milwaukee Vincent, Brown Deer, Wisconsin Lutheran, Pewaukee, West Allis Central, Racine Horlick, Milwaukee North, and Brookfield Academy.  For more information CLICK HERE

The annual middle school tournament will enter its 4th year and will once again feature some of the top middle school teams in the Midwest. The tournament offers a 3 game guarantee while using a pool play and single elimination playoff format.
