The 2015 NY2LA Sports GNBA Championships concluded on Monday. It was a short day with three sets of games played, but it did not stop players filling up the stat sheet at a high level. Here is look at the top performers from the day…

Keyyaun Batchman - G - Machine Elite - 2019

Batchman had an incredibly productive game on Monday. He dominated every area of the game as Machine Elite defeated Net Gain. Batchman finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals. He is a strong guard with athleticism. He does a great job of getting to the basket and finishing. Batchman's attacking style enabled him to get to the free throw line 14 times on Monday and he made 12 of them. It was a stellar game by Batchman.

Pat McCaffery - G - Iowa Barnstormers - 2019
McCaffery has a chance to be special. He has bounced back from a well-documented battle with cancer to be one of the top players in the 2019 class. He is long with great size for his age. He plays with a great understanding of the game. McCaffery moves without the ball really well for his grade level or any grade for that matter. He is more than a capable ball-handler as well. McCaffery can be used to bring the ball up the court against pressure. He finished with 18 points on Monday by scoring all over the floor. McCaffery is a player to remember in 2019.

Collin Reed - G - ET21 Buckeyes - 2019
Reed is a man among boys for the ET21 Buckeyes. He has great size and athleticism as a rising freshman. His speed in the open court is unrivaled at this level. Reed uses that athleticism to get to the basket nearly any time that he wants. He had 15 points and six rebounds in a loss to Future Elite. It was a strong game for most, but a below average game for the talented Reed.

Trey Zastrow – G – Playground Warriors – 2020
Zastrow is a pure shooter and he proved it on Monday. He knocked down seven 3-pointers on 11 attempts in the Playground Warrior victory over Playground Elite. Zastrow has buried 3-pointers throughout the GNBA league, so his performance on Monday is nothing new.

Bryant Brown – G – Future Elite – 2019

Brown has size and length of a forward and the skills of a guard. He handles the ball really well for his size/age. Brown showed his versatility on Monday with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. He passes the ball as well as he scores it. Brown is a player to watch.

Jeramy Shaw - G - Machine Elite - 2019
Shaw has performed well throughout the GNBA league averaging double digit points each game.  As a guard, Shaw has excellent size and athleticism for his grade level. On Monday, he had 14 points and four rebounds in Machine Elite's win over Net Gain. Shaw has a promising future as a basketball prospect.

Jalen Johnson - G - Wisconsin Playground Warriors - 2020
Johnson had one of the best overall stat lines of the tournament on Monday. He tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds. He was not done with a double-double though. Johnson also had five assists and five steals. Johnson is a highly skilled player that is usually best as a 3-point shooter on the offensive end. He has the size and skill level to be a player down the road.

Tywon Robinson - SF - Playground Elite - 2020
Robinson nearly had 22 points and nine rebounds on Monday in a loss to the Playground Warriors. Robinson has been efficient throughout GNBA play as he finishes well in the paint. His Monday production was much higher than his averages, but it is not totally surprising as he has been solid in the league. It was an impressive performance by Robinson.

Shawn Gilbert - PF - Iowa Barnstormers - 2022

Gilbert had a Dennis Rodman-like performance on Monday. He chased down 16 rebounds in a low scoring game. He also scored eight points in the loss. Gilbert has been one of the best and consistent rebounders in the GNBA. He is more than a rebounder though. He is also a good finisher in the lane. Gilbert did a good job of making his free throws throughout the league as well.

Blake Ellingson – SF – Kessel Heat – 2021
Ellingson got the job done inside for Kessel Heat in its 62-57 victory over Playground Elite. He had 19 points and 10 rebounds in the game. He has shown the ability to finish plays inside on a consistent basis. He entered the GNBA Championships shooting 64% from the field. Ellingson was 9-12 from the field on Monday.
