With the 2015-2016 season fast approaching, some of the Midwest’s top players are sneaking in their final off-season visits before things start to slow down in their respective recruitments. 2017 power forward Bennett Vander Plas wrapped up two visits two high major programs over the weekend. 

Ripon (Wis.) 2017 power forward Bennett Vander Plas took an unofficial visit to Nebraska on Saturday and Creighton on Friday. He has offers from IUPUI, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Green Bay. 

Milwaukee (Wis.) King 2017 guard Jordan Poole visited Marquette over the weekend. Poole has offers from the Golden Eagles, Nebraska, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Memphis among others.

Whitnall (Wis.) 2018 shooting guard Tyler Herro also visited Marquette. DePaul and Creighton are the lone high major programs to have extended early offers. 

Stevens Point (Wis.) 2018 forward Joey Hauser is picking up interest from Indiana, Creighton, Ohio State, Northwestern, and Michigan State. He has offers from Iowa State, Marquette, and Wisconsin among others. 

Savage (Minn.) Cristo Ray Jesuit 2017 small forward Jericho Sims picked up an offer from Nebraska during Saturday’s visit. Auburn, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, and UNLV have also pulled the trigger.

Cleveland (Ohio.) Garfield Heights 2016 point guard Frankie Hughes visited Louisville over the weekend. He’s still considering the Cardinals, St. Joseph’s, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin. A decision is expected next week. 

Shakopee (Minn.) 2016 small forward Steffon Mitchell will visit Wichita State on Oct. 22. Utah State, San Diego, and Central Michigan also remain in the mix.

Nevada is the latest to offer Minnetonka (Minn.) Hopkins 2017 point guard Ishmael El-Amin. They join DePaul and Texas Tech. 

2018 PG Courtney Ramey of Webster Groves (MO) took unofficial visits to Kansas and Kansas State last weekend.

2018 SG Torrence Watson of Whitfield (MO) took an unoffcial visit to Missouri last weekend.  Summer travel teammate 2018 F Gaven Pinkley of Hillsboro (MO) also visited Missouri last weekend.

The annual NY2LA Sports Futures Camp is set for Saturday October 24, 2015 in Illinois.  The camp is open to 2017-2019 prospects and annually draws some of the top prospects and scouts in the country.  It’s a one day camp with all prospects receiving a reversible jersey, towel, socks, t-shirt, and lunch.  Past camp MVP’s include the likes of Semi Ojeleye (Duke), Cliff Alexander (Kansas/NBA), Kevon Looney (UCLA/NBA), Deonte Burton (Marquette/Iowa State), Jimmy Witt (Arkansas), Nolan Narain (San Diego State), etc.  For more registration information CLICK HERE
