Coming out of the weekend, it's a good time to look in on how some high school boys basketball prospects performed in their games Friday and/or Saturday. Going across the country and focusing in on certain areas each week, we checked in on the happenings for players competing in states like Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Alabama and Arizona this past weekend.

Alex Barcello and Saben Lee are proving once again to be matchup nightmares for opponents early on the season in the desert while freshman RJ Hampton is really making a name for himself in the state of Texas and putting himself into national attention. Noah Wheeless and Jhivann Jackson went at it in a game for the ages there as well. Catch up on some of the top performances in those states this past weekend…


2017 SF Darius Williams scored 27 points for Cienega to make it an exciting one, but Sal Pointe Catholic got 22 points and 11 rebounds out of 2019 G/F Majok Deng to lead the way for a tough three point overtime win Friday night.

Horizon’s Aidyn Albright (2019 SF) was sensational with 37 points on Friday to get a solid win over Rincon.

Leading the force, 2018 G Chase Deputy of Canyon Del Oro was outstanding with 31 points and the victory.

2017 G Terrell Brown put together a big 25-point outing to lead Basha past Moreau Catholic. He also had 7 steals and assists. 2017 F Gabe McGlothan added 16 points along with 14 boards for Basha. 2020 SG Kyree Walker and 2017 Grand Canyon PG commit Damari Milstead combined for 46 of their team's 56 in a losing effort for Moreau Catholic.

Vanderbilt commit Saben Lee (2017 PG) and fellow standout teammate 2017 SG Alex Barcello (future Arizona Wildcat) were lights out Saturday as each went upwards of 30 (31 and 32 respectively) for Corona Del Sol as they defeated Christ the King by ten. Georgia Tech 2017 PG commit Jose Alvarado scored 25 for CTK in the loss.

2017 SF Juhwan Harris-Dyson, committed to Cal, was phenomenal per usual with 24 points and 9 boards, but it wasn’t enough for the stout Heritage Christian squad against Chaparral. 2017 G Colton Kresl dropped 23 points with 6 rebounds and 6 assists to help upend HC. Keep an eye on Chaparral's 6’7” 2018 F Kai Fletcher moving forward also as he put together a 12-point, 13-rebound performance for the W.

2017 G Ibrahim Muhammed put together a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead Kimball past Carter on Friday night.

Jefferson's 2018 SG Grayson Early had a heck of a three days last week scoring 33 points and 11 boards in a win Thursday, then had 19 points with 12 rebounds Friday night, and followed those with 22 points and 8 rebounds in a hard loss Saturday.

2019 PG KJ Cunningham dropped 20 points on Bryan H.S. to lead Rudder to a tourney title.

Standout 2020 PG RJ Hampton has taken the reigns running for Little Elm putting up numbers like 24 points (with 5 threes) on Friday night and then a stat line of 20 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds in a major win Saturday night. Teammate 2017 G Devin Pullum knocked in 6 threes and had 26 points total in the Friday win. Hampton preceded those two strong outings with a 36 point explosion Thursday night.

2018 F Mason Hix led Grandbury to some solid wins scoring 18 points with 20 rebounds on Friday night.

RJ Nembhard, a 2017 guard and TCU commit, had a big couple days last week concluding with a 27-point, 5-rebound performance in Saturday’s tourney final. 2017 PG teammate EJ Clark matched him with 27 points of his own.

2017 PG CJ Roberts dropped a 40-bomb on Saturday after pouring in 38 points the night before. Major weekend for the 2017 Richland H.S. star. He is committed to attend Missouri next year.

Noah Wheeless (2018 SG - Birdville) and Jhivann Jackson (2017 G - Trinity) squared off with dual 40+ point performances Friday night with Wheeless dropping 46 and Jackson 43. Birdville also got a double-double out of 2017 F/C Will Sorrells with 13 points and 22 rebounds as they took home a double OT victory. Jackson scored 27 points the previous night as well.

Colleyville Heritage’s Nike “Nick” Bossinakis (2019) lit it up for 25 points on Friday night. He followed that performance up with a nice 32 points in a closely contested win over Everman.


Trendon Watford, a 2019 small forward, continued a hot week for Mountain Brook, following a 34-point output earlier in the week with 28 points and 13 rebounds, as well as 5 blocks as they took care of business vs Helena. 
Calera defeated Montevallo behind Kevin McDowell's 20 points. 2017 prospect Dashaunte Smith led all scorers with 25 points and 8 rebounds for Montevallo.

2017 G Luke Touliatos popped Northridge for 21 points in Homewood’s win, while teammate 2018 PF Trey Jemison added another 16 points.

2017 G Deonte Gray scored 23 points for Bob Jones in a comeback win over James Clemens on Friday. 

Alabama commit 2017 PF Alex Reese was strong with 22 points and 10 boards in a runaway victory for Pelham over Gardendale.

Hillcrest's 2018 G Kobe Bradley is someone to keep tabs of going forward after he topped the 20-point mark twice last week before a 31-point performance against Monroe County.

2018 rising PG Eli Mouton of Ascension Episcopal was scintillating Friday evening as he sizzled the nets to 45 points after having a solid 29 the night before.

Kai Morgan (2017 SG) and Dawson Crosby (2018 PG) teamed up for 46 points (26 & 20 respectively) for Curtis.

2020 G Chance Robinson had a solid night from the floor with 25 points and 10 boards versus Carver Academy.

St. Augustine's Caleb Daniels scored 20 points with 7 rebounds to help defeat De La Salle on Friday night. He is a 2017 point guard prospect.

Belmont signee, 2017 G/F DeAndre “Pedro” Bradshaw (Russellville) had a major 32 points and 15 rebounds performance Saturday, but 2017 PG Tray Hollowell had another big 24 points performance in leading a win for University Heights Academy, as teammate Drew McGowan added 22 points. Bradshaw preceded that outing with 16 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists in a Friday night for Russellville. Hollowell had 21 the night before.

Paris’ 2017 G Jekobi Wells had a lights out 37-point game in defeating Mercer County in an early season tourney.

2017 Eastern Kentucky commit, 2017 SG Peyton Broughton had a monster 39-point night for North Laurel in their Saturday W.

2019 PG Korbin Spencer (Elliott Co.) and 2017 prospect Austin Crawford (Bracken Co.) went toe-to-toe Saturday with Crawford getting the edge with 28 points to Spencer's 27, but Elliott still came out on top. Crawford had dropped 32 points tug e previous night in a win.

Senior SG prospect, Preston English put up a whopping 36 points for Murray as they took down Mayfield. English is considered one of the best scorers in the state and lived up to it Saturday.

2018 shooting guard CJ Fredrick of Covington Catholic poured in 28 points on Saturday in a solid victory.

Duos from both Mason County and Magoffin County balled out in a scoring fest Saturday as the combo of 2017 G Trenton Russell (32 points with 7 triples) and Jaren Lovely (29 points) for Magoffin edged out Mason's 2018 G Isaiah Garrison (29 points) and 2018 G Leevi Dunaway (22 points and 10 boards) to get the W.

Of note, Johnson Central 2017 SG Mason Blair went off for 12 threes to help hit 50 points in a big win over Lawrence Co. on Thursday, putting in work from long range.
