A high motor, blue collar prospect still on the board in the 2018 class, Norcross (Ga.) forward JoJo Toppin is in the midst of mapping out his official visits. While nothing has been set at this time, Toppin has eyes on an SEC visit this fall.

“I know I’m going to take an official to Georgia,” Toppin told NY2LA Sports. “They’re recruiting me the heaviest at this time. I like what they’re doing with the play style and it’s close to home.”

Toppin also has offers from Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Florida, and others.  The 6-foot-6 senior said three other programs are currently recruiting him hardest.

Mississippi State: “I can see myself there. I like the vibe up there.”

Tennessee: “They’re young and getting better. Coach Barnes (Rick Barnes) is a great coach. I like his system. I’ve been up there dozens of times and loved the vibe up there. It’s crazy up there.”

South Florida: “Coach Dollar (Chad Dollar) was at Auburn and came over and offered me. I’ve known him for a while. I know him and his style and I know they’ll definitely be one of my top schools.”

Clemson has also come on this fall and is expressing interest.  “They like the way I play, my motor,” said Toppin. “If I get better, it’s possible I could get an offer.”

Toppin hopes to sign in the fall, but is open to waiting for the late signing period in the spring should he not come to a decision.  “I’m definitely going to take all five of my visits,” he said. “I want to get along with the players and like the school. I also want to have coaches who are honest with me and I want to fit in the system.”

Toppin played with the Atlanta Celtics during the travel season.
