One of the top available big men in the Midwest has narrowed down his list. Nearing the end of his recruitment, Schaumburg (Ill.) Conant 2018 F/C Ryan Davis is down to six schools.

“I’ve got it down to Vermont, Bucknell, Toledo, South Dakota, New Hampshire, and Lehigh,” Davis told NY2LA Sports.

Davis held other offers from Wright State, UC-Davis, Kent State, Western Michigan, Hofstra, Loyola (MD), Miami (OH), Wofford, Southern Illinois, Drake, Milwaukee, and Evansville.  The 6-foot-9, 270-pound senior has used three of his five allotted official visits thus far.

Bucknell: “The level of academics they offer is very high. On top of that, they have a very good basketball program.”

Toledo: “I enjoyed meeting the guys and the coaching staff. They have very nice facilities and a good football team as well. That added to the whole college atmosphere there.”

Vermont: “I liked the guys they have on their team. Also getting to meet all the coaches we great.”

Davis has no other official visits scheduled at this time.

Perhaps the team to watch in Davis’ recruitment, hasn’t offered yet. Wisconsin has been keeping tabs on Davis this fall. In fact, head coach Greg Gard recently watched Davis in an open gym.  “They said that I’m a very interesting player and I have a very good skillset,” said Davis. “They asked for some film. I’m waiting to hear back from them.”

Davis has no timetable for a decision yet. He could also either sign in the fall or play out his senior season.  “I just want to make it as soon as I feel 100 percent confident in my choice,” he said. “Whenever that may be, I don’t know exactly.”

Davis played with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors during the travel season.
