The college basketball season tipped off this past weekend and a host of past alumni were front and center with quality performances right off the bat.  Here’s a look at some that stood out during the start of the 2017-2018 men’s college basketball campaign…

FRIDAY ACTION
Gary Trent Jr. (Howard Pulley) made his debut with a solid 17 point 6 rebound performance as Duke rolled to a 97-68 win over Elon.

Marcus Garrett (Swaghouse) made his debut for Kansas with a 10 point 10 rebound performance as the Jayhawks rolled to a 92-56 win.

Jalen Brunson (Mac Irvin Fire) paced Villanova to a 75-60 win. Brunson finished with 14 points 3 rebounds and 3 assists in the victory.

Trevon Bluiett (Indy Heat) jumped out of the gate in big fashion as he posted 25 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists in Xavier’s 101-49 win.

Scottie Lindsey (Illinois Old School) poured in 26 points and collected 9 rebounds as Northwestern won 79-75 over Loyola (MD).

Isaac Haas (Atlanta Celtics) powered in 16 points and 7 rebounds to help Purdue to a 105-74 win Friday.

SATURDAY ACTION
Gary Trent Jr. (Howard Pulley) scored 17 points and collected 4 rebounds to help Duke to a 99-69 win.

Reed Timmer (Ray Allen Select) has 16 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists to pace Drake to a 101-54 win.

Charles Matthews (Meanstreets) scored 20 points while grabbing 4 rebounds and kicking out 3 assists to help Michigan to an 86-66 win.

Isaiah Roby (Quad City Elite) scored 11 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking 6 shots to help Nebraska to a 72-68 win over Eastern Illinois.

SUNDAY ACTION
Quentin Snider (Louisville Magic) finished with 10 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists as Louisville defeated George Mason 72-61.

Carsen Edwards (Houston Defenders/Houston Hoops) scored 25 points while grabbing 4 rebounds and kicking out 3 assists as Purdue rolled to a 111-42 win.  

Keita Bates-Diop (Illinois Wolves) scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Ohio State to an 82-72 win over Radford.

Leron Black (Team Thad) scored 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for Illinois in a 77-74 win.

Ethan Happ (Quad City Elite) scored 12 points and collected 11 rebounds as Wisconsin rolled to an 89-61 win.
