The Windy City is easily one of the most fertile proving grounds for elite basketball talent at any level and with each passing year many top prospects move on to the pro and collegiate levels while others then take their predecessors place on center stage at the high school level.  Yet while the 2019 class may very well be the focus over the next 12 months, a talented 2020 prospect in Chicago could very well be shaping up as the next big time prospect in the state of Illinois.

Enter PG Adam Miller of Morgan Park High School.  For those who don’t know don’t worry you will and for those who do you already know that this Class of 2020 standout is the real deal and he’s just getting started.  Standing at 6-3 weighing close to 175 pounds Miller is a left-handed basketball savant on the hardwood.  Equipped with size, athleticism, plus length, handles, breakdown ability, and a perimeter stroke the sophomore standout is an intriguing blend of the likes of Greg Anthony, Anthony Peeler, Kenny Anderson, and at the collegiate level Jalen Brunson.  His range extends beyond the arc, he can hit the mid-range jumper off the bounce, he can finish in traffic at the rim, etc.  The biggest thing with Miller is that the game looks easy to him at times and as easy as he can grab 10 rebounds or kick out 10 dimes the young fell can drop a 30 piece in efficient fashion without breaking a sweat.  A floor impact type talent, Miller can fill the box score and he has the ability to dominate in a variety of ways.

Still developing as a lead guard in terms of his perimeter defense and overall decision making Miller has that special type of upside that few possess in the game.  That was evident again this past October as Miller shined at a number of prestigious showcase type platforms including capturing Class of MVP honors for the Class of 2020 at the annual NY2LA Sports Futures Camp.

Whether it’s a top 10 national ranking, a potential McDonald’s All-American nod, or that next level beyond college type future, the world is currently at Miller’s fingertips and he has the remote control to determine the outcome based on the effort he puts in over the next few years in terms of his physical and skill development.  With a past history that includes the likes of Ben Simmons, Kevin Garnett, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose, Anthony Davis, Jabari Parker, etc. Chicago is more than stamped as one of the true cities in the world that push the needle forward in the game of basketball both nationally and globally.  Whether Adam Miller can reach that type of hierarchy no one really knows for certain but the talented sophomore is trending in a very positive elite direction and he’s put the basketball world on notice already that Chicago could very well be his playground for the next couple of years.

Currently holding offers from Kansas, Oklahoma State, Memphis, Bradley, Illinois, Wake Forest, and Illinois-Chicago, Miller is just beginning his ascent nationally.  With hard work and continued development physically and skill wise look for him to become one of the hottest 2020 prospects nationally with a laundry list of suitors on his recruiting trail over the next 18-24 months as he’s a must watch talent for any high major program looking for an impact lead guard to guide their ship.

Miller plays for the Mac Irvin Fire during the grassroots travel season.
