GREENDALE, WI - Martin Luther (6-0) got a huge 79-64 win over Waupun (5-1) Tuesday night in a matchup between the top two teams in Wisconsin in Division 3. Ace Evans scored 25 points, Trequan Carrington added 22 points 11 assists and Joey Immekus scored all 18 of his points in the 2nd half (6/8 from three) for the Spartans in the win.

After Waupun led 29-28 at halftime, Martin Luther exploded offensively to start the 2nd half, with Evans and Carrington attacking the rim and kicking out to shooters for wide open looks. Immekus hit 4 threes in the first 5 min of the half to push the lead to 49-33, and it eventually expanded to 65-40 as Waupun had no answer for the Spartans, who seemingly could not miss from deep.

Ace Evans scored 16 of his 25 points in the 1st half to keep Martin Luther in the game after Waupun got out to an early lead. The combination of Evans and Carrington controlled the game after halftime as Waupun’s guards struggled to stay in front of the duo. Xzavier Jones had a quiet game offensively, but gave great energy in all other aspects of the game, picking up Waupun star Marcus Domask full court on defense the whole game and making him work for every basket.

Domask, a Northern Kentucky Commit, had a solid game for Waupun in the loss, showing why he is considered one of the top players in the 2019 class in Wisconsin. Domask finished the game with 25 points 5 rebounds and 4 blocks, using his strong frame to finish at the rim and draw fouls. He also showed good athleticism, meeting Jones at the rim for an emphatic block on a dunk attempt in the 1st half. Domask also became the all-time leading scorer in for Waupun in the game and now has 1,741 points for his career.

Look for both of these teams to be among the favorites in Division 3 the rest of the season, and a rematch in the Kohl Center would not surprise anyone.
