Siena College landed their man with the commitment of Bennett Kwiecinski. The senior is a 6’8” forward of Loyola Academy and the Illinois Wolves. Kwiecinski announced his commitment on twitter Sunday night to the upstate New York school.

Kwiecinski picked the Saints over offers from Air Force, DePaul, Illinois State, Lipscomb, Presbyterian, and Yale. The commitment comes after he took his official visit to the Loudonville, New York campus earlier this month. Head Coach Carmen Maciariello and staff offered him back over the summer in early July.

The 6’8” senior is one of the more skilled big men in the state of Illinois. He is very versatile with all his ability and is a tough matchup. He puts the ball on the floor well and has good moves for his size to get to the basket and finish strong. Is able to overpower smaller defenders but also beat larger ones off the dribble. He plays with plenty of energy and has the tools to contribute on both ends of the court.

Kwiecinski joins forward Colin Golson of Ferndale High School (MI) and guard Aidan Carpenter of Lee Academy (ME) in the 2020 recruitment class for the Saint’s. This is Maciariello’s first recruitment class as the head coach, as he was promoted to the top spot back in March after one season as an assistant coach. Siena is a Division 1 school and a member of the MAAC.
