One Illinois junior to burst onto the scene this summer was Julius Rollins of Hillcrest High School and Young & Reckless. Rollins has been able to attract the attention of many mid-major coaches from around the Midwest and beyond.

While Rollins said that he currently has no leaders in his recruitment, he holds offers from Kent State, Southeast Missouri State, UIC, and his newest as of Wednesday evening; Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In addition to his offers, Rollins also has varying levels of interest from Columbia, Loyola-Chicago, Toledo, Utah State, and others.

Rollins started to really impress this June with his high school team. The junior is a lanky 6’6” wing that is a dynamic player. An above the rim athlete that is able to attack off the bounce and get to the rim often. He has continued to improve his perimeter jumper which makes him that much more difficult to defend. While he admitted to us that he wants to get stronger, Rollins is still a versatile and effective defender that can stop guards and forwards alike.

“I want to make sure that I’m in a comfortable learning environment, I want to be in a place where I can excel as a student“ Rollins told us when asked what he is looking for in a college.  He also added “basketball wise I want to be a part of an organization that really develops their players.”

With good size and plenty of projectable skills to the next level, looks for Rollins recruitment to continue to rise over the next few months. His mentioned his goals for his junior season are to get better every day as well as go for a state championship.
