While most programs around the nation are actively working on their 2020 recruitment class, the Wisconsin Badgers have not only completed their 2020 class, but are coming close to finishing up recruitment for their 2021 class. Just hours after landing a commitment from point guard Chucky Hepburn out of Nebraska, the Badgers struck again landing forward Matthew Mors. This is in addition to power forward Chris Hodges who was the first member of the Badgers 2021 class committing back in August.

Head coach Greg Gard now has one of the top 2021 classes in the nation in addition to a very strong 2020 class with Johnny and Jordan Davis, Lorne Bowman, Ben Carlson, Steven Crowl, and Carter Gilmore all verbally committed.

Mors will be joining the Badgers from Yankton High School (SD) and the South Dakota Attack. He chose Wisconsin over his other scholarship offers of Colorado, Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, TCU, among others. Coach Gard and staff got involved early with the forward offering him over a year ago.

Mors is a 6’7” strong and bouncy forward with plenty of scoring ability. The junior is very good off the bounce getting to the basket, especially for his size. Though can just as easily knock down threes off the dribble or spotting up. He has a great combination of skill, size, and athleticism that should translate well in the Big 10.

Only entering his junior year, Mors has had quite the career already. He started playing varsity basketball as a seventh grader and scored his 1,000-career point as only a ninth grader.  While fans in Madison will have to wait a couple years to see Mors in the red and white, there’s plenty to be excited about.
