RJ Ogom of Homewood-Flossmoor High School (IL) and All-In Athletics has committed to College of Charleston. The senior announced his commitment on twitter Sunday evening. “I decided to commit now because I felt that I found the right place for me” the forward told us after his commitment.

Ogom picked the Cougars over his other scholarship offers from Mount St. Mary’s, Northern Illinois, Purdue Fort Wayne, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Youngstown State. The senior’s recruitment blew up this summer as he has received all of his offers since June. Head coach Earl Grant staff offered him in back in July. The commitment comes after he visited the South Carolina campus two weeks ago.

When asked why he picked Charleston, Ogom told us “I like that the program is on the rise. I really had fun with the coaching staff and it really felt like a family.” As well Ogom also mentioned the school’s strong business program as a reason for his decision.

Charleston is coming off of a successful 24-9 season and made it to the NCAA Tournament the year before in 2017-18 after a 26-win season. Ogom joins D’Avian Houston as the second member of the Cougars 2020 recruitment class. Houston is a 6’1” point guard out of Episcopal High School in Texas. “I see myself coming in and working to make an impact right away,” Ogom plans on when he arrives next year.
