Head Coach Greg Gard and the University of Wisconsin have been one of the standout programs in recruiting this fall in terms of landing commitments and this week was no exception as they landed a couple of their targets including 2021 F Matthew Mors of Yankton High School in South Dakota.  A talented big that was primed for a big jump nationally over the next 8-12 months, Mors is a perfect system fit for the Badgers and he should be an ideal talent for them in terms of production at the next level.  We caught up with Mors to discuss his commitment…

NY2LA:  Why did you choose Wisconsin?
MORS:  I loved everything about it…the coaches, the players, and the campus.  I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.

NY2LA:  What did you decide to make the commitment this early?
MORS:  I personally didn’t think it was early because I have been going through this process for a long time and I knew that when I felt right I would commit.  That’s exactly what happened this weekend.

NY2LA:  What about the staff did you like that made it a fit for you?
MORS:  I liked how they think I am a perfect fit for Wisconsin.  They think something special can happen and they could love for me to be a part of it.  I’m excited to be a Badger!

When it comes to ideal fits for a program few will be as good as the Matthew Mors one with the Wisconsin Badgers.  Certain programs seem to be the right system and situation for a particular prospect and in this particular case it’s hard to see this not being an exceptional situation for both the program and the player.  The Badgers may have gotten a steal on this one and Mors is focused on making sure that is the case.  Congratulations to Matthew on his decision and best of luck to him in the future.

He played with the South Dakota Attack during the grassroots travel season.
