The high school season is right around the corner and while it’s great to look at various angles on which kids need to be looked at it’s equally important to pay attention to the high level impact talents that stand to be front and center throughout the season.  Every state has their own and Wisconsin is right there with them.  Today we glance at the Badger state with a look at the 10 players projected to be the possible alpha’s in the state so to speak this upcoming high school season given their roles and opportunities they'll get to impact the court this upcoming season…

Patrick Baldwin Jr. – 2021 – G/F – Sussex Hamilton (WI)
Regarded as one of the very best in the country regardless of class, Baldwin holds offers from all the blue blood schools and he’s just starting to stretch his legs as a prospect.  He’s the alpha among alpha’s in the state this season.

Dalton Banks – 2020 – G – Eau Claire North (WI)
Off the board yesterday to Southern Illinois, Banks is a talented guard who can score in bunches.  Look for him to have big game after big game as he leads the attack for Eau Claire North and he does it in quality fashion.

Johnny Davis – 2020 – G/F – La Crosse Central (WI) 
An explosive versatile athlete with skill and an ability to take over the game, Davis is a must watch prospect whenever he takes the court.  Verbally committed to Wisconsin, Davis is primed for another huge season and is looking to help Central to another state title. 

Carter Gilmore – 2020 – F – Arrowhead (WI)
Gilmore stands to be the focal point for the Arrowhead attack.  A first team all-state selection last season, Gilmore is a versatile fill the box score talent who is one of the toughest matchups in the state because of his versatility.  Look for him to him to have another big year for Arrowhead. 

Kobe Johnson – 2020 – PG – Nicolet (WI)
With the departures of brother Jalen and 2021 F Jamari Sibley, Kobe will be a big part of the Nicolet attack this upcoming season.  A starting guard on the state championship team a year ago, Johnson is taller, stronger, more athletic, and primed to take the next step in his development this upcoming season.

David Joplin – 2021 – F – Brookfield Central (WI)
With Cole Nau having departed after guiding BC to the state title, the leadership roles for the Lancers now fall on two 2021 prospects to keep things going. Joplin is one of those and if his play at the end of last season is any indication, he stands to have a big year this upcoming season.

Darius Hannah – 2020 – F – Milwaukee Academy of Science (WI)
Slowed by injuries early in his career, Hannah is healthy and trending upward fast.  Still young for his age, the talented forward committed to Bradley last week and he’s primed for a big season.  If MAS is going to challenge for a state championship it’s going to be on the back of Hannah who should have a big year this upcoming season.

Tyrese Hunter – 2021 – PG – Racine St. Catherine’s (WI)
Athletic, explosive, and elite, Hunter is a highlight film at times with his quickness and his ability to take off and fly.  A tough gritty lead guard with handles, breakdown ability, etc. Hunter stands to be the alpha for St. Cats this upcoming season, Hunter can fill the box score and he’s one of the most exciting prospects in the state regardless of class.

Ben Nau – 2021 – G – Brookfield Central (WI)
Another talented guard ready to take the next step, Nau will work with Joplin and others to continue to build on last year’s success.  He holds a handful of Division 1 offers and now expected to be the primary ball handler and facilitator for Central this season you can expect him to slide from a supporting role into a leadership role.  Look for his overall production to jump dramatically this season.

Brandin Podziemski – 2021 – SG – St. Johns NW Military Academy (WI)
One of the fast rising prospects in the state, Podziemski will be a huge part of the STJNWMA attack this upcoming season.  Expected to carry a big part of the scoring load alongside senior guard Gerald Gittens, Brandin is primed for a huge year and will be one of the bigger stories in the state production wise.  Another of the talented prospects in the state that is a must watch talent if you get the opportunity.
