On Saturday, Beau Frericks committed to Lewis University and head coach Scott Trost. Frericks is a 6’2” senior of Cary-Grove High School (IL) and Team RWA. The guard chose Lewis over his other scholarship offer from Quincy and McKendree. He also had a great deal of interest from schools on all three levels of the NCAA.

While he had a strong junior season, Frericks really broke out to college coaches this June at the Riverside-Brookfield and Ridgewood Shootouts. Shortly following those two events he received all three of his scholarship offers. The senior is a highly skilled scorer. He does a great job creating shots for himself and hitting them at a high percentage from the perimeter with deep range.

When asked why he picked Lewis, Frericks stated “My gut made me choose Lewis. The rich basketball history appeals to me. I’m grateful Coach Trost and Coach Rocco want me to be a part of that.”

The Lewis coaching staff continued to be mentioned by Frericks as the main reason he committed to the Flyers. “They showed the most love. The relationship with the coaches was easy and maintained throughout the process” he talked about on how Lewis stuck out from his other suitors.

Before he gets upon the Romeoville, IL campus next fall, Frericks has a couple lofty goals for his Cary-Grove High School team. He is looking to win thirty games plus make a deep playoff run. With him alongside teammate and Belmont commit; Frank Jakubicek, look for them to have a good chance at both of those goals.
