A number of 2021 prospects are continuing to trend upward across the country and one such talent is explosive lead guard Tyrese Hunter of Racine St. Catherines in Wisconsin.  Fresh off a stellar sophomore high school season and a strong travel campaign, Hunter is primed for a big season and his stock is elevating with each passing week.

Equipped with a powerful and explosive 6-1 160 pound frame, Hunter is an alpha in all facets on the hardwood.  A lock down defensive guard with grit, toughness, and quickness, Hunter brings positive chaos to the defensive side of the floor on and off the ball with consistency and disruption.  Offensively he’s a blur in the open court and he has the ability to break down opposing guards in both half court set and in transition.  The uber athletic guard can posterize you on occasion with explosive bounce and he has the ability to finish through traffic as well with creativity.  On the perimeter his jump shot has continued to develop and he has range that extends beyond the arc or at the middle range level as well.  Still developing in terms of his ability to impact the game at each level, Hunter is far from a finished product so his best basketball lies way ahead of him making him not only a highly intriguing prospect but also one to pay very close attention to over the next 8-12 months.

Bradley, South Dakota State, DePaul, UW-Milwaukee, and UIC have already extended offers.  Creighton, Butler, Southern Illinois, Oregon State, Marquette, Miami (OH), Loyola-Chicago, Western Illinois, Wright State, etc. have also been in to watch him this fall.  One of the top juniors in Wisconsin a potential top 75 prospect nationally in the 2021 class, Hunter is primed for a big year and the explosively talented guard is trending upward fast both regionally and nationally.

Hunter plays with the Wisconsin based Phenom University/Team Herro EYBL program during the grassroots travel season.
