Grant Asman is a name to know for this upcoming high school season. The 6’8”plus power forward is a junior at Kimberly High School, Wisconsin and played with Pack Attack. Asman is one of the more skilled big men in the area who is starting to attract a good deal of interest from college coaches. After limited playing time as a sophomore, Asman has taken big steps in his game and he seems ready for a breakout campaign.

Back in September Michigan Tech became the first program to pull the trigger and offer a scholarship to Asman. While Michigan Tech is currently his only offer, he does have interest from a number of Division 1 and 2 schools including Air Force, Lehigh, Minnesota Duluth, Southwest Minnesota State, and Winona State. While hasn’t taken any visits yet, he is planning on visiting Winona State soon. He mentioned that Air Force, Michigan Tech, and Winona State, are recruiting him the hardest

When asked what he is looking for in a program, Asman stated “I am mainly looking for a school that will be challenging for me. For a basketball program, I would like a place that has performed well in the past and has a coaching staff that I can really get to know and like.”

Asman has nice combination of skill and height at 6’8” and is only a junior. He has great length and has a very nice shooting stroke from three. He is a quality shot blocker that also has the ability to versatility to defend out on the perimeter. When asked what he would like to improve “Things I would like to improve would be mainly my overall strength.”

When talking about the season, he had some lofty but attainable personal and team goals. “I would like to accomplish first team all-conference, our team to win conference, and to win state.” Expect to hear his name more and more as this season goes on.
