One of the more intriguing under the radar seniors in Indiana is Ben Humrichous. Humrichous is a 6’7” forward at Tipton High School. The senior has a wide range of college interest holding scholarship offers from a few NAIA schools as well as one Division 1 offer.

Bethel, Huntington, and Marian, are his three NAIA scholarship offers. Humrichous received his first Division 1 offer back a few weeks ago in October from Incarnate Word. Additionally, Indiana Wesleyan, Lipscomb, and Taylor have all been in touch with him.

With the high school season coming up, Humrichous has his full focus on it. He is not planning on committing until March, unless he can find the perfect option before then. When asked what that right option is and what he is looking for in his future college, he said “In a school, I want someone that will provide me with a mathematics major that will set me up to be successful.” On the basketball side of the equation there a few things he is looking for.

“For basketball, because of my age and the fact I should be a junior, I want a school that can develop me to my potential… I want a place I might be able to make an impact early on even if I need to redshirt as a freshman.”

The senior has good skill for his size with ability to handle and shoot the ball from the outside. “Growing up not the height I am now, I was always trained as a guard and now as I’ve grown my guard skills have come in handy.” When talking about what he wanted to work on, Humrichous focused on his inside game. “Being only 195 at my height, at the college level I will probably have more trouble banging inside with the bigger kids.”

For this upcoming season, Humrichous is only focused on one thing. “I just want to win. I don’t have scoring goals even though there are numbers I’d like to hit but I just want to win right now.”
