At the early signing period is now over and the high school season is upon us, uncommitted 2020’s are quickly disappearing. While many of the top seniors are committed, there are still many talented players out there. Here are five of the top uncommitted seniors in the state of Illinois.

Tyler Beard – 2020 – G – Whitney Young High School
Since receiving scholarship offers from DePaul and Iowa early in his high school career, Beard’s recruitment has cooled off a bit. However, there is still plenty to like about his game. Explosive point guard who is talented with the ball in his hands, super quick to the basket and is very tough to stick with. Virginia Tech offered Beard back in February and it will be interesting to see what schools get involved with him coming up.

Brandon Lieb – 2020 – C – Deerfield High School
True big man at 6’11” with supieror length. Has good touch and footwork to score well around the basket plus can also step out to hit jumpers from the mid-range. Legitimate rim protector on the other end that has real upside. Lieb has received offers from IUPUI and Western Illinois this summer.

Christian Shumate – 2020 – SF – Bloom High School
After transferring from Plainfield East, Shumate is already having a strong season early on for a loaded Bloom squad. While he has four senior teammates committed to Div. 1 schools, Shumate is putting in some serious work so far with Bloom, including a big 28 points and 11 rebounds performance in the championship game of the Chicago Heights Classic. Shumate currently holds Div. 1 scholarship offers from Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Grambling State, and Southern Utah, expect more to roll in for one of the most athletic high school players around.

Demarius Splunge – 2020 – G/F – Orr Academy
One of the more talented players in Illinois that has had an injury riddled career. While he has not played a ton of basketball over the past year plus, there is plenty of talent and upside there. Highly athletic 6’6” wing with great skills to pair with it. Able to score the ball in a variety of ways and can be a tough defender all over the court.

Jeremiah Williams – 2020 – G – Simeon Career Academy
After a big junior season at St. Laurence, Williams transferred into the powerhouse Simeon. The 6’4” guard is one of the more versatile players in the state who is a true do it all stat stuffer. Attacks the basket hard and has the size to finish around the basket, distributes the ball, strong rebounding guard, and plays with plenty of toughness. He is a highly coveted mid-major recruit with offers from Akron, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, Southern Illinois, and a few others.
