Class of 2024 Somto Cyril has to found his comfort zone on the court. The 6’11 F out of Chattanooga, TN has put in a lot of time in the gym refining his skills to be one of if the most polished recruit in all of the region. He sees the game in a way that is advanced for players his age and he is just scratching the surface in terms of his long-term potential. The Hamilton Heights Christian Academy standout is one of the focal points on a loaded roster that still feel like they do not get the national attention that they deserve, but that could all very well change soon.

Cyril is simply a dominate force on the offensive end. Physically he is almost impossible to guard one and one and commands constant double teams. He can score from various points on the floor and even developed the ability to knock down the three balls on a more consistent basis. He also brings with his game an insane leaping ability which constantly makes opponents victims of his high-flying dunks. He has a natural feel around the basket and uses his upper body strength to finish at the rim with either hand. The focus last summer where he spent countless hours in the gym was developing his mid-range jumper which has set him from other players this season.

Defensively he can guard almost any position on the floor at the high school level. He is quick enough to stay in front of guards on the perimeter and his size and athleticism allows him to go in the paint and guard bigger players in the post. His quick leaping ability allows him to block shots and set up teammates for easy transition plays and causes easy turnovers with deflections and steals by playing passing lanes. His ability to rebound the basketball is one his most prized attributes. He has a natural feel for the ball and is fundamentally sound in terms of boxing out and using his upper body strength to secure the ball. He is not turnover prone, and constantly is making plays on the court to make his team better each night.

He currently holds offers from the likes of Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Memphis, Oklahoma St, and Ole Miss. This list will only continue to grow as he heads into the winter school season and eventually the spring and summer travel season.
