COMMITMENTS
2011 PG Bruce Barron of Brehm Prep (IL) verbally committed to Oregon over the weekend.  The long athletic scoring talent took off this past July with an explosive effort at the NY2LASports.com Next Level Invitational with the Illinois Titans grassroots travel program and followed that up with a number of scintillating efforts during the backend of July with the Mac Irvin Fire.

2011 G Norman Powell of Lincoln H.S. (CA) verbally committed to UCLA this past weekend.  Powell is an explosive athletic perimeter talent who shined this past spring/summer with the Dream Vision grassroots travel program.  He turned in a number of solid efforts at the 2010 NY2LASports.com Summer Jam this past July.

Indiana struck big on the recruiting trail in the 2014 class yet again as the Hoosiers landed a verbal commitment from 6-9 Center Trey Lyles of Arsenal Tech (IN).  Lyles is a top 10-15 national prospect in the 2014 class and based on upside and potential this is a huge grab for Indiana.  He played with the Spiece Indy Heat program this past summer.

2011 F Ross Travis of Chaska H.S. (MN) is headed to the Big Ten after offering up a verbal commitment to Penn State this past weekend.  Travis was one of the highly regarded 2011 prospects left on the board in the Midwest.  He played with the 43 Hoops program during the grassroots travel season.

Oregon didn’t just strike once this weekend, the Ducks also landed 6’1” G Brett Kingma of Henry Jackson H.S. (WA).  A sharpshooting instinctive combo guard, Kingma played with the Washington based Friends of Hoop grassroots travel program this summer.

Rutgers continues to make their presence felt as the Scarlet Knights landed 2011 SG Michael Taylor of Boys & Girls (NY) over the weekend.  Taylor played with the Metro Hawks during the grassroots travel season.

The recruiting saga of 2011 PF Jernard Jarreau of McDonogh 35 (LA) finally appears to have come to an end as the long lean interior talent verbally committed to Washington over the weekend.  He played with the New Orleans Elite D1 Ambassadors this past summer.

Minnesota struck on the recruiting trail as well and this time it was in-state as 2011 SG Joe Coleman of Hopkins (MN) verbally committed to the Gophers.  Coleman is an explosively athletic wing talent who shined for the Howard Pulley Panthers program during the grassroots travel season.

Texas Tech added their second talent in a week the past few days as 2011 G Toddrick Gotcher of Garland Lakeview H.S. (TX) verbally committed to the Red Raiders.  He played with the LBA Seawolves during the grassroots travel season.

UW-Green Bay got in the mix on Friday as Coach Brian Wardle grabbed a commitment from 5-9 2011 PG Keifer Sykes of Chicago Marshall.  Sykes was one of the top 2011 prospects left on the board in the state of Illinois.

Vanderbilt made sure their name popped up in the recruiting game this weekend as they collected a commitment from 2011 PF Shelby Moats of Waconia (MN).  Moats played with the Minnesota based Pump N’ Run program during the grassroots travel season.
