The 2010 Generation Next Tip-Off basketball tournament presented by PHENOMNATIONHOOPS.COM in association with NY2LASPORTS.COM tipped off this past weekend as teams from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin took to the hardwood for two action filled days of hoops.  Here's a recap of who took home the inagural tournament championships for the various divisons as we begin our recap of this past weekend's tournament here at PHENOMNATIONHOOPS.COM...

14U DIVISION
Kingdom Hoops (IA) - Champions
Versatile All-Stars (WI) - 2nd place

A hotly contested championship game featured two very strong teams in terms of prospects and their performances in the final game did not disappoint as Kingdom Hoops held off a furious late rally by the Verstile All-Stars to capture the 14U championship 60-56. 

Kingdom Hoops was led by sharpshooting perimeter talent Nick Uhlir who scored 12 points by hitting four trey balls.  Chris King added 10 points and Grant Graham added another 10 points in the winning effort for Kingdom Hoops.  Karim Cole led the Versatile All-Stars with 14 points in the losing effort while Keenen Bell added 13 points and Andrew Davis finished with 11 points.

13U DIVISION
Playground Elite (WI) - Champions
Kingdom Hoops (IA) - 2nd place

A furious second half comeback by the Playground Elite squad proved to be too much to overcome as they defeated Kingdom Hoops 58-54 to take home the 13U tournament championship. 

Jack Popp scored 14 points to lead the way for Playground Elite while Isaiah Hennings added 12 points and Bobby Hambright scored 11 points in the winning effort.  Kingdom Hoops was led by Taylen Alexander who lit it up for 20 points while Sebastian Baugh added 11 points in the losing effort.

12U DIVISION
Kingdom Hoops (IA) - Champions
Illinois T-Wolves (IL) - 2nd place

An efficient team effort proved to be too much for the Illinois T-Wolves in the championship game as Kingdom Hoops used solid execution and clutch plays to take home the 12U tournament championship 60-48.

Quinton Curry paced Kingdom Hoops in the championship game with 22 points while Grant Kramer added 13 points in the winning effort.  Alonzo Verge Jr. led the way for the Illinois T-Wolves with 21 points in the losing effort.

11U DIVISION
Kingdom Hoops (IA) - Champions
DTA Spartans - 2nd place

A solid balanced team effort for the Kingdom Hoops squad took home the 11U tournament championship as they defeated the DTA Spartans 44-34 in the championship game.

Kingdom Hoops was led by Grant DeMeulenaere who finished with 13 points and Isaac Prewitt finished with 9 points in the win.  Ultra quick instinctive lead guard Isaiah McCloud scored 7 points for the DTA Spartans.

10U DIVISION
Playground Elite (WI) - Champions
Kingdom Hoops (IA) - 2nd place

Another extremely competitive championship game came down to the final minutes as Playground Elite was able to outlast a solid Kingdom Hoops team 29-25 to capture the 10U tournament championship.

Matthew Brown proved to be too much to handle in the championship game as he scored 15 points for Playground Elite while Chase Winterboer scored 8 points for Kingdom Hoops in the losing effort.
