Over 200 college coaches filled the bleachers in droves during the first two days of the 2011 Next Level Invitational and sharpshooting 2013 G Matt Thomas stood front and center with a number of electric performances.  Thomas wasn’t the only one as some of the biggest names in the tournament made their presence felt in a huge way during pool play.  Here’s a quick look at some of the top performers during pool play at the 2011 Next level Invitational…

Top Performers
(Note:  Listed in alphabetical order)

Deonte Burton – 6’5” – 2013 - SF – TP Elite
Powerful and athletic, Burton was steller on the second day of pool play and displayed his athleticism, versatility, and power with a number of powerful dunks in a big time performance as coaches from 5 BCS conferences sat courtside.

Glenn Robinson Jr. – 6’6” – 2012 - G/F – SYF Players
The Michigan commit came up with a number of quality efforts during pool plays as he showcased his smooth effortless stroke and solid floor game.  He scored in transition, hit some mid range looks, and drained a couple long range jumpers during the first couple of days.

Zak Showalter – 6’2” – 2012 - G – Wisconsin Swing
Stepping up and delivering as advertised has never been Showalter’s issue and during the first couple of days that proved to be the same story as he came up big once again.  He was electric at times in a 29 point effort during one game and delivered as well in the other games on a variety of dunks, dribble penetration, and perimeter jumpers.

Shane Simpson – 6’0” – 2012 - G – Team NLP DF
Wowed most of the coaches in attendance on day 1 as he delivered a near 30 point effort in victory over the powerful TP Elite squad and he followed that up with quality performance after quality performance.  He’s electric at times when he gets going and he was virtually unstoppable on occasion as he slashed and stroked his way to three exceptional performances the first couple days of the tournament.

Nick Stover – 6’6” – 2012 - G/F – BTI Pump N’ Run
Stover came up with a huge 34 point effort during one pool play game and really showed his versatility to score and his range in the process.  He’s been one who’s generated a lot of interest from schools in attendance as well.

Matthew Thomas – 6’2” – 2013 - G – Wisconsin Playmakers White
As good the players listed were as well as others during pool play no one delivered like Thomas did each and every game.  He filled the gym with electricity and a lethal stroke as he dropped in over 20 in one game, 30 in another, and 42 in his final pool game on Thursday night which included an 7 trey ball performance.  He was scintillating to say the least and coaches left the gym buzzing as a result.
