With a handful of prospects on visits and even more taking their ACT test on Saturday, the third week of the annual Breakfast of Champions Fall League presented opportunities for some below the radar guys to shine and 2013 G/F Abe Tanel of Heritage Christian did just that as the active wing ran baseline to baseline from start to finish and delivered a breakout performance in the process. We begin our recap of week 3 of the 2011 BOC League with a look at the top performers from this past weekend…
WESTERN CONFERENCE
LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ABE TANEL – 2013 – G/F – HERITAGE CHRISTIAN
Stat Line – 22 points (10-12 FG), 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers
Turned in an exceptionally efficient effort on both ends and brought energy and hustle to the court in the process. Attacked the glass, finished in transition, was active defensively, and helped fuel his team to victory in the process.
2. DUANE WILSON JR. – 2013 – PG – DOMINICAN
Stat Line – 30 points (11-20 FG), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 6 turnovers
Was exceptional from long range (i.e. 6-8 3 point FG), attacked the rim off the bounce, finished in transition, made some solid passes, etc. Struggled a bit from turnovers that were more a result of constantly attacking off the bounce. Another strong effort, his second in as many weeks.
3. AYINDE STARLING – 2014 – G – CATHOLIC MEMORIAL
Stat Line – 13 points (6-12 FG), 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists, 2 steals, 0 turnovers
Has really taken his game up a couple levels after a subpar opening week. He attacked the glass, was active defensively, finished in transition, and turned in a strong overall floor performance that was equally as efficient.
4. REED TIMMER – 2014 – PG – NEW BERLIN EISENHOWER
Stat Line – 22 points (9-17 FG), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers
Continues to shine each week with his perimeter shooting, activity, and decision making and week 3 was much of the same as he showed his range, attacked the glass, was active defensively, etc.
5.(TIE) DAMONTRAE JEFFERSON – 2014 – PG – MILWAUKEE HAMILTON
Stat Line – 15 points (7-11 FG), 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 5 turnovers
Struggled during the opening week but rebounded to turn in a nice floor effort that was efficient in terms of his shot selection, active on the glass and the defensive end, and kicked out a number of solid passes as well.
5.(TIE) KEVON LOONEY – 2014 – SF – MILWAUKEE HAMILTON
Stat Line – 19 points (9-15 FG), 9 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 turnovers
Another solid consistent performance that helped lead his team to victory. Finished in transition, knocked down the mid range jumper off the bounce, was active defensively, etc.

CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BRIAN BEARDEN – 2013 – G – HOMESTEAD
Stat Line – 13 points (6-12 FG), 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 0 turnovers
Delivered a solid floor effort that was equally as efficient. Made solid passes, attacked the glass, showed range beyond the arc, etc.
2. JAVIS MCPIKE – 2012 – G – MORRIS-MARSHALL
Stat Line – 20 points (8-19 FG), 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 turnovers
Was active and aggressive on both ends and really attacked the glass well. Would like to see his shot selection and decision making continue to improve moving forward.
3. DAN CAMPION – 2013 – PG – SHEBOYGAN NORTH
Stat Line – 12 points (5-7 FG), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 0 turnovers
Continues to turn in stellar efficient floor efforts each week and week 3 was much of the same as he made sound decisions, delivered a number of solid passes, finished with efficiency, and attacked the glass.
4. DEARIONTE HUDSON – 2014 – PG – GERMANTOWN
Stat Line – 15 points (7-9 FG), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover
Delivered another solid performance that was efficient as well. Finished with consistency, attacked the glass, and was active at times on the defensive end.
5. LEVI BRADLEY – 2015 – F – MILWAUKEE PIUS XI
Stat Line – 9 points (3-7 FG), 20 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, 2 turnovers
Attacked the glass well and finished at times around the basket. Would like to see him be more active on the defensive end and attack the rim more on the offensive end moving forward.

CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DEMETRIUS GALLOWAY – 2013 – PG – KENOSHA BRADFORD
Stat Line – 8 points (4-13 FG), 10 steals, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers
Struggled from the field but was exceptional in terms of his activity defensively and his overall floor performance on both ends. Needs to be more efficient finishing and improve his shot selection and decision making moving forward.
2. NICK KLAR – 2014 – G – MARQUETTE
Stat Line – 12 points (6-10 FG), 7 steals, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, 2 turnovers
A solid efficient effort with excellent activity on the defensive end of the floor was his calling card on Saturday. Finished when needed, attacked the glass, and made a lot of good things happen on the defensive end.
3. BRANDON SCHATTNER – 2014 – G – WILMOT
Stat Line – 9 points (4-15 FG), 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks, 6 turnovers
Struggled with his shooting and turnovers but surrounded those drawbacks with excellent rebounding, solid defense, and some nice passes on the offensive end. A solid floor performance that could really improve with better efficiency and decision making moving forward.
4. KEVIN MCHENRY JR. – 2015 – G/F – MENOMONEE FALLS
Stat Line – 15 points (7-14 FG), 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist, 4 turnovers
Was solid on the offensive end, attacked the glass, was active in contesting shots, etc. A solid week to build on moving forward.
5.(TIE) JONATHAN LOPEZ – 2013 – G – RONALD REAGAN
Stat Line – 21 points (8-17 FG), 4 rebounds, 2 turnovers
Was aggressive on the offensive end and showed an ability to finish in a variety of ways and nice range as well. Needs to be more active defensively and contribute more across the board moving forward.
5.(TIE) FORAH BANGURA – 2013 – PG – BROOKFIELD ACADEMY
Stat Line – 18 points (7-8 FG), 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, 3 turnovers
Served up a strong effort that was efficient from the field, active defensively, and equipped with some decent passes. Would like to see him reduce his turnovers while elevating his activity and overall floor performance moving forward.
