An exciting month of hoops action hit the courts in April from coast to coast and talented prospects from the state of Wisconsin like junior wing Nick Fuller made their mark along the way.  Here’s a look at 15 uncommitted talents who boosted their stock with some solid efforts on the hardwood last month…

Turner Botz – 2013 – F – Wisconsin Playmakers
(6-6/195/Little Chute H.S./Little Chute, WI)
A rugged blue collar forward who is in the middle of everything, Botz plays hard and competes on both ends of the floor.  During the month of April that was evident once again as he attacked the glass, scored in transition, knocked down jumpers, showed range beyond the arc, and continued to deliver solid performances virtually every time he hit the court.  Currently holds offers from UW-Green Bay, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Nebraska-Omaha, etc.

David Burrell – 2014 – F – Milwaukee Rebels
(6-6/175/Milwaukee Hamilton H.S./Milwaukee, WI)
A long athletic wing, Burrell’s best performances of the spring were delivered the last couple of weekends as he took his activity up a few notches and his production increased as a result.  An excellent athlete with the ability to soar and finish in transition, Burrell has the length, size and athleticism to be a versatile wing on both ends of the court and he showed flashes of that last month.

Marquise Carter – 2013 – G – DTA Spartans
(6-0/160/Wauwatosa H.S./Wauwatosa,WI)
Has quietly developed into a solid talent over the past couple of years and continues to make his mark on the hardwood whenever he hits the court.  Has solid handles that he uses to score off the bounce, hits the mid-range jumper, and has the ability to knock down the trey ball as well.  Delivered some solid performances last month at a number of tournaments and is one to pay attention to in the coming months as he continues to improve with each passing week)

Brady Ellingson – 2014 – SG – RAS
(6-4/170/Sussex Hamilton H.S./Menomonee Falls, WI)
Delivered an MVP type performance in Minnesota in helping lead his RAS squad to the 16U Platinum Championship.  One of the premiere marksmen in the state and region regardless of class, Ellingson showed excellent instincts and combined that with an ability to drain the mid-range jumper and fill it up from long range.  A classic catch and shoot wing with solid grades, Ellingson collected an offer from South Dakota State and continues to get interest from Creighton, Northern Iowa, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, etc. amongst others.

Nick Fuller – 2013 – SG – Wisconsin Swing

One of the premiere available wings in the Midwest, Fuller delivered a big time effort last month at a number of tournaments while helping lead his 17U Wisconsin Swing squad to one tournament championship in Indiana and two more championship game appearances at the Swish ‘N Dish and the Spring Extravaganza.  Fuller’s best games came against the best competition as he dropped 20 in a loss to Meanstreets, 28 in a win over KC Run GMC, 18 2nd half points in a win against the Eric Gordon All-Stars, 33 in a win against the Michigan Mustangs, and 25 and 10 in a win over the Spiece Indy Heat.  Fuller displayed range beyond the arc and an improved ability to score off the bounce, in the post, and in transition.  He hold offers from Nebraska, Butler, Creighton, Dayton, Drake, Rice, etc. with interest coming from a host of other mid and high major programs in need of a wing with range who can put the ball in the basket.

Jarvis Garrett – 2013 – PG – TP Elite

One of the premiere lead guards on the board in the 13’ class, Garrett is the classic playmaking pass first floor general who excels both in half court sets and in transition.  Excellent handles, solid quickness, etc. give him the ability to breakdown opposing defenses with positive results.  Has excellent vision, makes the game easy with pinpoint passes, and has the ability to score off the bounce and create depending on what the situation calls for.  Last month he delivered a number of quality performances filled with mid-range jumpers, trey balls, and solid passes and combined that with some nice on the ball defense in the process.  Currently receiving interest from a host of mid and high major programs.

Chris Golden – 2012 – G – TP Elite

A young senior buy his birthdate, Golden delivered an explosive month of April that started with an electric 28 point performance in an overtime loss to the powerful CIA Bounce at the Swish ‘N Dish.  Golden may have set the table that night but he definitely didn’t stop there as the scoring machine continued to eat well throughout the month of April with a number of stellar performances.  Equipped with an electric mid-range jumper that he pairs with an improved stroke beyond the arc, Golden can take over the game on the offensive end of the floor and continues to deliver high quality performances each time he hits the floor.

Toby Hegner – 2013 – F/C – Wisconsin Playmakers
(6-10/200/Berlin H.S./Berlin, WI)
An illness during the high school season really slowed his development over the winter but as April rolled along he continues to look better and stronger each time he hit the floor.  While showing flashes of his ability at times early in the month, Hegner delivered a strong performance at the Spring Extravaganza where he scored around the basket, knocked down mid-range looks, drained trey balls, and finished with success in transition.  A solid inside-outside big who can face up and create problems, look for Hegner to be clicking at full strength by July with a couple more months of work.  Sits on a host of mid and high major offers with interest coming from more with each passing week.

Riley Lachance – 2014 – G – RAS
(6-2/160/Brookfield Central H.S./Brookfield, WI)
Stepped up with a huge MVP performance at the Spring Extravaganza in Minnesota where he helped lead his squad to the 16U championship.  Lachance has a featherly stroke that he knocks down from everywhere on the floor but his improved ability to score off the bounce at the rim and with a mid-range pull-up really took his game to another level at times last month.  Still young and developing, Lachance was stellar at times in the month of April and looks primed for a huge month of July with continued hard work.

Kevon Looney - 2014 - SF - Milwaukee Rebels
(6-7/185/Milwaukee Hamilton/Milwaukee, WI)
One of the highly regarded young wings in the country, Looney delivered some high quality performances throughout the month of April against a variety of competion.  He excels off the bounce in attacking the rim, has the ability to take over the game with a mid-range pull up, and displayed solid rebounding instincts and range beyond the arc as well.  Still only scratching the surface of his potential, Looney showed flashes of his high major potential last month.

Austin Malone-Mitchell – 2013 – PG – Playground Elite
(5-10/165/Rufus King H.S./Milwaukee, WI)
A gritty lead guard with toughness and skill, Austin came through with some solid performance during the month of April and collected offers from San Francisco and Bowling Green as a result.  Handles the ball well, can hit the mid-range jumper, and has the ability to knock down the trey ball, Austin plays hard and produces on both ends of the floor pretty much every time he hits the court.  

Nick Noskowiak – 2015 – SG – WI Playground Warriors
(6-2/165/Sun Prairie H.S./Sun Prairie, WI)
Really focusing on uncommitted sophomores, juniors, and seniors in this article, still have to give credit to Noskowiak who was absolutely scintillating at times during the month of April.  An excellent young marksmen on the rise, Noskowiak drilled jumpers from all over the floor during a variety of tournaments and really looked the part of an excellent young sharpshooting scoring wing on the rise in the coming years.  He was consistent and dominant at times and he still has a long way to go but he definitely is one to know and watch moving forward.

T.J. Schlundt – 2014 – SG – Wisconsin Swing
(6-4/180/Oconomowoc H.S./Oconomowoc, WI)
Made the transition to the 17U level and didn’t miss a beat as Schlundt delivered an All-Tournament performance at the Swish ‘N Dish and then followed that up with more solid efforts later in the month including a game against the Eric Gordon All-Stars in late April where he drained 5 trey balls in the opening minutes and opened a lot of eyes in the process.  Another classic catch and shoot wing, Schlundt has instincts, range, and skill and looks the part of one of the premiere sophomore shooters around moving forward.  Holds offers from UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay with interest coming from the likes of Minnesota, Creighton, Marquette, Wisconsin, etc.

Matthew Thomas – 2013 – G – Wisconsin Playmakers
(6-3/190/Onalaska H.S./Onalaska, WI)
Not too much more can be said that hasn’t been said about Thomas who continued to deliver high quality performances despite a difficult month off the court in April.  One of the premiere shooters in the country, Thomas scores off the bounce, hits mid-range looks from a variety of angles, blisters the net from beyond the arc, and has the ability to completely take over the game on the offensive end of the floor when he gets it going.  Mix in improved handles, solid vision, and solid mental and physical toughness on the court, Thomas is a high major caliber talent who continues to collect interest from the same with each passing week.

Luke Worthington – 2013 – F/C – Playground Elite
(6-8/210/Homestead H.S./Mequon, WI)
One of the breakout performers during the month of April, Worthington has collected a number of low and mid-major offers along with some high major interest after some excellent performances last month.  He opened with an All-Tournament performance at the Swish ‘N Dish in early April and then followed that with some more quality efforts during the last couple of weeks as well.  His effort and hustle on both ends was exceptional virtually every time he took the court and he attacked the glass and finished around the basket with consistency as well.  Mix in a few dunks and a handful of double double performances and the talented interior prospect definitely stepped up his game last month and opened a lot of eyes in the process.
