The Florida sun was out on Wednesday and as hot as it was outside some talented prospects brought the heat inside the gym. Freakish athletic Derrick Griffin was one such talent as the explosive wing put on an aerial display on national television Wednesday night. We look at that and more as we look back at day 1 from Florida…

TOP PERFORMERS
Jarvis Garrett - 2013 - PG - TP Elite
5-10 - Central HS - West Allis, WI
Garrett was electric in the open floor for TP Elite, scoring 22 points in the win over CP3. Garrett only missed a few shots from the floor, knocking down mid-range jumpers, and finished very well at the rim. At 5-10, Garrett can create for himself and others, and knows how to finish and protect himself in the paint.
Derrick Griffin - 2013 - F - Houston Defenders

Darryl Hicks - 2013 - G - The Ville
6-3 - Trinity HS - Shelbyville, KY
Hicks is a big, strong guard, with a lot of athleticism. Hicks can absorb contact around the rim and is very good in isolation settings. The 6-3 guard also loves to attack the glass on offense as well.
Aaron Harrison - 2013 - G - Houston Defenders
6-5 - Travis HS - Houston, TX
Harrison took the game over at times offensively, mixing it up with pull up three's and strong drives into the lane. The 6-5 guard also did a nice job finding the open teammate, often Derrick Griffin, for an assist. Harrison scored 21 points for the Defenders on Wednesday night against Boo Williams.
Jamaar McKay - 2013 - SF - Playground Elite
6-5 - Washington HS - Milwaukee, WI
McKay attacked the rim hard and finished well in the paint all game long for Playground Elite. McKay scored 20 points for Playground Elite in their win over The Ville. McKay had an all-around solid game offensively, collecting rebound and assists, as well showing good ability to adjust his shot in mid-air when he had to.

Tyler Miller – 2013 – SF – TP Elite
6-5 – Nicolet – Milwaukee, WI
Delivered a strong opening night effort in the victory over the CP3 All-Stars. Miller drilled trey balls, scored in transition, was active on the defensive end, etc. A solid performance in Florida for Miller.
