Saturday in Orlando saw bracket play continue and the feature game of the day had the Houston Defenders matching up with the Texas Titans.  Someone forgot to give ultra-talented Aaron Harrison the memo as he delivered a stellar effort to push his team to an easy victory in Florida over the Titans.  We look at that and more in our recap of day 4 in Florida…

Top Performers
Evan Boudreaux – 2015 –F/C – Team NLP
6-7 – Lake Forest H.S. – Lake Forest, IL

The highly regarded young big man showed his versatile offensive package on Saturday night as he finished in the paint, delivered some solid passes, drilled a trey ball, and attacked the glass on both ends.  Looked the part of the high major talent he’s regarded to be as Northwestern, Wisconsin, Maryland, etc. looked on.

Jarvis Garrett - 2013 - PG - TP Elite
5-10 - Central HS - West Allis, WI

Garrett had a huge day for TP Elite, scoring 60 points through two games, including a 35-point effort against the New York Gauchos. Garrett’s at his best with the ball in his hands in the open floor, and defenses struggled to contain him Saturday.

Aaron Harrison - 2013 - G - Houston Defenders
6-5 - Travis HS - Richmond, TX

Harrison was sensational in two games for the Houston Defenders Saturday. Harrison led his team in scoring for both games, and shot the ball extremely well from three-point range. Against Texas Pro in a tight game, Harrison also took the game over late. Harrison has excellent instincts and a great feel for the game and he paired those with his skill to lead his team to victories once again on Saturday.

Nigel Hayes - 2013 - F - All-Ohio Red
6-7 - Whitmer HS - Toledo, OH

Hayes has tremendous basketball instincts and can play many different positions on the floor. A skilled big man, Hayes can facilitate from the top of the key or the wing, knock down a three-point shot, or attack from the perimeter as well.

Tahj Shamsid-Deen – 2013 – PG – Southern Stampede
5-10 – Columbia H.S. –Atlanta, GA

The ultra-quick left-handed perimeter talent was exceptional at times on Saturday as he attacked his way to the rim for layups and assists while also dropping jumpers from all over the court.  A talented and instinctive lead guard with handles and skill, Deen was very impressive in Orlando yesterday in helping his team to two victories.

Stock Boosters
Isaiah Taylor - 2013 - G - Texas Pro
6-2.5 - The Village HS - Oakland, CA

Taylor is a good shooter and defender. As a guard, he can play on or off the ball. Taylor loves the ball in his hands in transition, where he can attack, or find his shooters spotting up. Taylor played a very strong game against the Houston Defenders Saturday night.

Sam Hunt - 2013 - G - CP3
6-1 - Dudley HS - Greensboro, NC

Hunt had a breakout game for CP3 against All-Ohio. The 6-1 guard dropped in 17 points, knocking down open shots when they were there, and attacking the rim in transition.

Sadiz Ochu – 2013 – PF – Houston Defenders
6-7 – Yates – Houston, TX

The strong and tough interior talent came up with a huge performance against Julius Randle and the blowout victory over the Texas Titans.  Ochu played excellent defense, was physical with Randle the first three quarters before the game was out of reach, and attacked the glass and the rim to deliver a high quality floor effort in the win.  His toughness in the paint was a key part of the victory over the Titans and Ochu impressed in the process.

Star Watch
Deonte Burton - 2013 - SF - TP Elite
6-4 - Vincent HS - Milwaukee, WI

Burton had 17 points for TP Elite in their win over the New York Gauchos Saturday afternoon. Burton struggled with foul trouble in the second game against Southern Stampede as TP Elite fell.

Derrick Griffin - 2013 - F - Houston Defenders
6-7 - Terry HS - Rosenberg, TX

Griffin continues to be a catalyst on both ends for the Houston Defenders with powerful dunks and big blocks. Griffin controlled the paint on offense and defense for the Defenders in their two wins over the Texas Titans and Texas Pro and brought the intangibles to the table along with his explosive athleticism that played a huge part in the Defenders success on Saturday.

Julius Randle - 2013 - F - Texas Titans
6-9 - Prestonwood Christian Academy HS - Dallas, TX

Randle looked to attack at every opportunity Saturday against the Houston Defenders. Randle did struggle from the field, but got to the free throw line over 10 times, in the Titans’ loss Saturday. Struggled for the first few quarters and with the game out of reach in the fourth he delivered his best quarter of the game.
