The class of 2013 is center stage right now but a host of 2014 prospects continue to elevate as well.  One such talent is Paul Turner, a talented wing from the always loaded state of Illinois.  We caught up with him on Monday…

Westchester (Ill.) St. Joseph’s 2014 wing Paul Turner is sitting on nine scholarship offers from DePaul, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, Purdue, South Florida, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

Still taking his time with the process, Turner participated in the Adidas Nations Camp last week, where he got a good feeling of where he stacks up with some of the best talent the country has to offer.

"It was good," he said. "It was my fourth one. It's a great experience, it really is. They treat you good and they make you better.

"I think I stand great with the rest of the players that were there."

Turner was able to make one unofficial visit this summer to Missouri. While he was there, Head Coach Frank Haith and the rest of the Tigers’ coaching staff delivered a strong message.

“The visit stood out great,” he said. “I talked to the Head Coach. The coaches took me around the whole campus. Then I talked to some of the players.

“They said they believe in me at the next level and they can get me better.”

Turner says he’s also fielding strong interest from Florida and Indiana. Both schools are eager to see a little more from the 6-5 wing.

“They’re both very interested in me,” Turner said. “Both want to see me play again. Indiana, I think is coming to my high school game and Florida will during the next AAU season.”

Heading into his junior year, Turner has two visits he’s thinking about taking this fall, before he begins his season.

“Probably Wisconsin and Missouri,” he said.

Turner played with the Indiana Elite grassroots travel program this summer.
