NY2LASPORTS.COM - DAVIS ECLIPSES SCORING MARK AS LUTHERAN ROLLS
Antonio Curro — NATIONAL RECRUITING DIRECTOR - NY2LASPORTS.COM
Loyola-Bound 6-5 Sr. F Flavien Davis of Wisconsin Lutheran passed Jim Wendt on the all-time scoring charts for the Vikings last night as Davis dropped a 14 piece and kicked out 4 dimes in a 61-37 victory over Slinger on Thursday. The Vikings jumped out with a 20-8 first quarter and extended their lead to 18 at the half while coasting to victory.
Jim Wendt set the record in 1990 and the 19 year old mark of 1154 career points stood until Davis's opening basket last night as the Horizon League bound Davis scored to pass Wendt and now stands at 1168 points for his career. Congratulations to Davis who continues to add to an excellent resume while with the Vikings as the talented forward helped lead them to their first ever state championship in boys hoops last year and now posts the career scoring mark as well.
Sr. F Tim Rotruck paced the Vikings with 19 points 7 rebounds and 3 steals in the winning effort. The Vikings ran their record to 3-0 and face a huge test this weekend as they lock up with Wauwatosa East on Saturday night in a 7:30 p.m. matchup at Tosa East. The Red Raiders boast a hungry young squad and 6-6 So. F Darrell Bowie, one of the bright young stars on the rise in the Badger state.
