Another stellar weekend of action for the second week of the Junior Breakfast of Champions Fall league hit the hardwood on Saturday night and 2016 G/F Jack Popp stole the show with a huge floor effort in helping lead his team to victory.  We begin our recap of week 2 of the JR BOC with a look at the top performances…

PHENOM DIVISION TOP PERFORMERS

CONFERENCE/LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JACK POPP – 2016 – G/F
Stat Line – 19 points (8-12 FG), 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, 2 assists, 1 turnover
Turned in an excellent overall floor performance where he attacked the glass, scored in transition, knocked down the jumper, and brought energy and activity to court on both ends.

2.    ALVIN BURRIS – 2016 – G/F
Stat Line – 16 points (7-12 FG), 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 turnovers
Really turned it up in the second half as he helped lead his team to victory with excellent activity, solid open court scoring ability, nice rebounding, and solid instincts on the defensive end of the floor.

3.    JUWAN MCCLOUD – 2016 – PG
Stat Line – 12 points (5-11 FG), 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 4 turnovers
A solid young floor leader, he continued his stellar play with a nice overall floor effort that included playmaking, scoring, defense, etc.  Would like him to continue to improve his efficiency and activity on both ends moving forward.

4.    ADAM WIECZOREK – 2016 – F
Stat Line – 12 points (6-8 FG), 5 assists, 4 steals, 3 rebounds, 0 turnovers
A strong and efficient floor performance that was dominant at times in the process.  Scored with consistency, made solid decisions with the basketball, was active defensively, and he attacked the glass as well.  A very nice effort this past weekend.

5. (Tie)    JEREMIAH WORDS – 2016 – F
Stat Line – 14 points (6-10 FG), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 1 turnover
Wasn’t as active as the prior week but still delivered a solid floor effort and was efficient with his shooting and decisions as well.  Has excellent instincts and a knack for filling the box score game in and game out.

5. (Tie)    EZEKIEL GUETHS – 2016 – F
Stat Line – 10 points (4-8 FG), 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, 1 turnover
Continues to elevate his play each week and this past weekend he was active on both ends, he attacked the glass, he finished with confidence and efficiency, and he played hard and served as a dominant interior force on both ends.

FUTURE STARS DIVISION TOP PERFORMERS

CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KEISEAN COLE – 2017 - F
Stat Line – 17 points (7-12 FG), 10 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 3 turnovers
A strong second week effort that was dominant on the glass and scoring but also productive in his overall floor impact as well.  Continues to show an ability to make shots and has a solid feel for the game as well.

2.    NICK LOKE – 2016 - G
Stat Line – 15 points (6-13 FG), 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers
Significantly improved his activity on both ends from the prior week and played with confidence in turning in a strong overall performance where he knocked down shots, attacked the board, was active defensively, etc.

3.    ANDREW LEWIS – 2017 – G/F
Stat Line – 18 points (6-14 FG), 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, 3 turnovers
A solid effort this past weekend where he showcased his ability to knock down shots and his range beyond the arc.  Mix in some solid rebounding, a couple nice passes, etc.  A nice week to build on moving forward.

4.    DAMON JACKSON – 2017 – PG
Stat Line – 10 points (4-11 FG), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 7 turnovers
Was extremely active on both ends and aggressive as well and that translated into a solid floor performance filled with scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals as well.  Would like to see him more efficient in terms of his shooting and decision making with the ball moving forward but his activity and overall floor production were very good this past weekend.

5.    ANGELO MARTUCCI – 2018 – G/F
Stat Line – 13 points (6-9 FG), 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 turnovers
A solid overall floor contribution where he was efficient putting the ball in the basket and showed nice range in the process.  He was active on the glass and defensively as well.  Would like to see him continue to make better decisions with the ball and take his activity up on both ends moving forward.
